Ayoob's latest post about this was that the lawyer would claim that you accidentally shot him because of the hair trigger, didn't realize it was loaded, etc, and that you are only claiming that you meant to shoot him to cover your negligence.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

No posts of mine are to be construed as legal advice, which can only be given by a lawyer.

Yep, in my Armed Guard class they had a few actual cases of this sort of thing happening, but only one involving a gun.

Others were using a car to take out a Bad Guy, and use of fists and feet on a Bad Guy.

Its pretty easy for a lawyer to claim his Bad Guy client wasn't the Bad Guy, since there often isn't any hard evidence pointing to him being Bad and it is just your word against his, and his string of priors means nothing because they weren't the exact thing you are claiming. He was just Joe Innocent walking down the street but you had gotten yourself a gun (because you get in fights).
Am I a good shot!?!, YEAH I'M A GOOD SHOT!....i just got bad aim

There's no chance of that happening as my gun is always loaded, and I wouldn't be arguing that I didn't think it was loaded because if I had to shoot someone the argument would be self defense not negligence.

I did the same to my Shield a few months back. Brake cleaner gets the white lettering off.

Why not just remove the whole thing entirely? That is what I did for my Shield.

That being said, I do like it and it does look a lot better.

I shouldve known. Brake Kleen is amazing. Thanks for the tip.

Sure you can, but it's not going to sit right with the rest of the slide, just like on the original LC9.

You can grind down the top of the LCI to remove the letters, but the letters are engraved pretty deep to where you really need to grind a lot to make the LCI top smooth. Then you would need some type of filler (welding) to add material back to the LCI in order to make it sit flush with the slide again. Otherwise it will look weird and out of place with a lower sitting LCI on your slide.

What you can do is grind a little off the underside of the LCI if you don't want it sticking up quite as much. But grinding that tab off completely isn't smart as it's good to have some type of LCI on the gun, whether it sticks up or there's a hole that you can visually see the round in the chamber.

I would not use brake cleaner on any painted S&W gun. I used some on my 22A barrel, and the paint came off. I would guess that S&W uses the same paint on all their firearms.

Zimmermann was accosted in his trial because he carried his KelTec with a loaded chamber.Whatever you might think about his actions, having a loaded chamber isnt a sign of immoral intent-but that didn't stop the state from trying to anyways.

Point being-opposing counsel's job is to make you look like a reckless fool. They will find a reason to say so, loaded chamber indicator or no.If the OP left his gun totally stock, the opposing counsel/prosecutor would say carrying his gun around the house period signifies "paranoid intent".

I could be mistaken, but isn't the M&P line still melonite finished? I know the older M&Ps were anyhow... I forget what surface finish they use on current production. It's not "paint" anyhow...

Well, you can figure it out.
The incremental road from citizen to servitude.

Keep accepting the compromises and soon you will have nothing.
                                Way to go Ace!

Note: I am not saying break the law, but at least don't speak in subservient terms please.

When you buy a compromised pistol (since few others in the USA will want it nor need it), you show the manufacturer a demand for it.
They only care about profits so they'll make them.
And that means you lost ground in your rights...yet again...AND YOU HELPED LOSE THEM.
IT IS NOT LCI PER SE: IT IS WHAT IT MEANS AND WHERE IT LEADS.

"You give a mouse a cookie, he'll want a glass of milk"

Will you buy a micro-stamped pistol? That is next.
But there WILL be more and more and more and more until you just don't want to buy one.

You are, in effect, funding your own loss of rights by making it commercially viable.
                                Please stop.

I have never bought a pistol with an LCI nor a mag disconnect and I never will.
I loaded up on the SSE and stopped buying pistols until I move.
I will not get on my knees and beg for my RKBA with a neutered sissy-pistol I cannot defend myself with while my attacker can have a full load.
But that is exactly where this is leading and what they plan and the sad fact is you are helping with you dollars and taxes to ENCOURAGE IT by showing demand.
