Maybe I'm wording it wrong but Yes i am comparing the glock is like the corvette. The corvette Z06 will hang performance wise with the Ferrari 458. Just like glock will hang with HK's performance wise. But the 458 is the BETTER looking car just like HK is the better looking gun. The Z06 is cheaper just like glock is cheaper. The Corvette in my opinion from the C4 to the current C7 although not a bad looking vehicle is ugly when compared next too the Italian counterparts!Comment

After carrying one for Uncle Sam that should have been melted into scrap long before I went to high school I cant bring myself to buy one.
That being said I'll admit they are durable as hell. I've just had too many fail on me ( after god knows how many thousand rounds and horrible maintenance). I'd recommend one but never buy one, its an anecdotal evidence thing.Comment

CZ is so much better vs Sig. Sig trades off their past nameComment

I have 2 Sigs, a 1911 rail and a P220 Match Elite. I also have 2 CZs, a SP-01 and a 97B. I'd say get the CZ. The Sigs are definitely machined better so they look pretty much flawless, while the CZs are rough looking.
I shoot my CZs better than my P220, but to be fair, both of my CZs have been modded. My P220 feels great in a hand, but not as good as the SP-01. The P220 feels better than my 97B though...
I shoot my CZs better than any other pistols in my stable, including my Baer PII.Comment

When you say metal, does this include alloy or steel? Most Sigs are alloy and the all steel ones are over 1k. Just want you to be sure. If alloy, then Sigs and Berettas but between the two, I'd take a Sig over Beretta because the ergos of feel in my hand. CZs are good low priced all steel guns but I hate the tiny slide as it makes it difficult to rack the slide. Because of this, it would never be my choice over others for self defense but I love shooting them at the range. I'm not a Glock fan, sold my gen 2 Glock 19 & have a gen 2 Glock 20, but would not mind a Glock as a beater gun to throw around and depend my life on. Love HKs as they are most consistent in quality IMO in my 20+ years of shooting guns of different manufacturers. Love my alloy and steel Sigs too.
With that being said, I say go with alloy Sig because it fits your criteria. If it was me to pick a "beater" gun, I'd choose polymer guns because they're on the cheaper side, suits the throwing around, and can depend my life on them.Last edited by smak28; 03-18-2015, 10:19 PM.sigpicComment

I just can't get into the CZ. I wanted to. Just not my cup of tea. I'm not a fan of the DA/SA action to begin with. One of the few DA/SA guns that doesn't send me running for the hills is the Sig 226. The first DA pull is lighter and smoother than expected. It's not my favorite gun...but it is a nice one.
The only Sig I've ever owned is a Sig 1911 TTT. Really nice shooting 1911. Love it. Which is good because I can never sell it. Sentimental value. Was a gift from my father. Sig does offer great quality for price. I've been so pleased with it that I have been considering getting a Sig 238. Again, not my favorite action, but it will serve as pocket pistol and summer concealment gun. So it's small size and other attributes make up for that.
Don't get a Beretta 92 or 96, Been there done that. Saw Die Hard and Lethal Weapon too many times as a kid, plus it was what the Air Force issued so I had some basic familiarity with it and wanted it to be my first handgun. Worst first DA trigger pull on earth! Massively heavy and long. On a duty size gun, that's not a plus in my book. I can see it on a pocket pistol. Even then I'd rather it were lighter and shorter than the Beretta 92.
Then again I am not scared of "Tupperware" like you seem to be. Nothing wrong with having a preference for metal. I get it. However, I'm a big Glock fan. The only metal frame gun in my current handgun collection is my Sig 1911. Though a Browning Hi-Power is likely to join it someday soon. Maybe an HK P7 will make it in there just for kicks. Find that quirky gun interesting, but I doubt either will usurp my Glock as my go-to gun.Last edited by tacticalcity; 03-19-2015, 12:24 PM.Comment

The smaller, lighter slide, helps keep the bore axis low and is probably responsible for the CZ's accuracy and low felt recoil.Last edited by himurax13; 03-19-2015, 1:10 PM.Originally posted by BumslieHK - the best 600 dollar gun, 900 dollars can buy.Originally posted by SleighterGetting legal advice from a gun salesman, is like getting medical advice from a janitor at a hospital. A lot of people get trigger jobs when they install the SRT so there might be some perception there of improvement. Also some good smiths will sand down something simple they see during the install of an SRT which can also help.
I also love both Sig and CZ. I plan to pick up a Cajun Gun Works P-01 with all the fixings when I have some fun money refilled. Out of the box, CZ pistols feel a little rough and many people don't like the flat matte finish.Last edited by FlyingPen; 03-19-2015, 1:17 PM.Comment

It also makes the DA pull feel wierd.
If you slingshot them with your index finger and thumb, they are easy to rack. Using the entire support hand is no bueno.
