Sig vs CZ or similar metal frame gun

Financially speaking a CGW CZ will be a lot more fun to shoot than a stock Sig and it might cost you about $100 - $200 more. But keep in mind that Sig you spend nearly $1,000 on will have the ugly LCI. For me CZ ergos just work. Their stock rubber grips are probably the best factory grips that comes with a gun.Comment

OP. I'd like to offer my opinion on SIG vs CZ since I own and shoot both.
I have owned at one point 5 SIG pistols, a W. German P226, P228 & p230, a German framed P220R and limited release German Police Pistoll P225. Of the 5 the P226 and P228 remains. They are all fine pistols and have never had a malfunction with any of them. American made SIGS are now just as reliable as the W German or German versions and would not hesitate to own one but they do have a different feel & balance than the older folded slide models and is the reason I still have the P226 and P228. IMO, the P228 is the best SIG service pistol ever made and is highly recommeded if you can find one for a reasonable price.
As for CZ's, I used to have a 90's CZ-75 (I feel stupid for selling that back then) and currently own a CZ-75B SA, CZ-97B & a CZ-P07. I do believe they are equal to any SIG in terms of reliability and durability. They offer a great value and are an excellent shooting platform and have great ergonomics.
I am pretty much done with SIGS at this point except maybe for a stainless P220R but still wanting to add to the CZ stable, the CZ-75 PCR or SP-01. I recommend trying out any CZ pistol before picking up any SIG, they just might surprise you and save you a few buck in the process.Comment

This. I just bought my first in recent history pistol, but I shoot shotgun clay games and the cost of the gun is the least expense when spread over its shooting life. A $4,000 shotgun is good to go for 20 years. That is $200 a year for the cost of the gun. I shoot a moderate amount, and spend that much and sometimes twice that just on ammo and target fees.Comment

OP what makes you think all metal will hold up better to "banging around in the back of a truck" or the phrase you used? Metal cracks, polymer bends. It's extremely unlikely that either break, but if absolute rigidity was the standard for absorbing abuse, we wouldn't have shocks on our cars.
That said, I'd take a CZ in all metal over sig/hk.Comment

Interesting. I shoot much less than even a amateur competitive clays shooter, but I do 5,000+ rounds a year. I don't even have the gun out of jail, and I picked up 200 rounds of fmj and wondered if I should have bought 400.Comment

CZ all day every day. Sig's are way over priced and the CZ just shoots better out of the box and is a world class shooter with a simple trigger mod.Comment
