Thankfully mine eats Miwall with no problems.
It's the first 9 I've ever purchased. Beautiful and high quality right out of the box, right up there with my Kimbers.

What do you plan to do with the trigger with carry purpose in mind?

I've had some trigger time behind a new EMP in 9mm lately.

            Thing's i've found:

            It's accurate.

            It feels really good.

            It's lightweight and slim.

It's somewhat snappy (moreso than my G26, about the same as the Shield).

It is not tolerant of limp wristing. I had no problems with it, but my 65+ year old father had type 3 malfunctions on it consistently.

It got better as he got used to it, but alternating back and forth i had zero problems but he would get the same malfunctions.

Also ran some Federal 124gr HST's and Hornady Critical Defense 115s through it without problems.

The two that I've run through mine are the Ranger 127gr +P+ and the Speer 124gr Gold Dot...both run fine in the last couple of thousand rounds

Awesome deal, I paid $1,200 for my EMP 40.

My EMP 40 had the ejector pinned brand new. I field stripped to check before taking it to the range. I was surprised since I read that many people had to send in theirs on Springfield's dime to get pinned.

So took my gun out today. The sights on it SUCK. In low light conditions the night sight feature does crap. Extremely unhappy with the sights. Also the gun shot predominantly to the left which I had the gun smith take care of. As far as reliability, well... I did have 2 FTE but that was around round 230 and I was using American eagle ammo and the gun was extremely dirty. Also had 1 stove pipe. So I'm not sure how to react to this gun yet. As far as accuracy... I suck at shooting but at 45 feet I was able to keep it with in the 8 ring using a standard silhouette target.

I also think the poor grouping was a little due to the poor sights

I had to send mine in to get the ejector "drilled and pinned"

This was easily done, two weeks total time, no questions asked, they paid for everything, including shipping both ways.

I like the pistol a lot, shoot it well, it's on my LTC, and stock.

I think I might get some sight paint and fill it in that's how bad it was. I don't have vision problems, so I know it wasn't me. I might take it to the outdoor range tomorrow and see how it goes.

You want to be careful messing with the trigger on a carry gun. Both from a practical sense and from a liability sense.

If the trigger is too light you will under stress have premature firing. You completely loose all fine motor skills with all that adrenaline pumping through your veins. It is very, very different from being on the range.

Any and every firearms instructor worth his salt will say the same. Save the trigger jobs for target and competition guns. Leave the self defense carry guns alone.

All that said, nice gun. Congrats.
