Congrats OP on the purchase!!! To those that CCW the EMP, does the beavertail make it hard to conceal?

It's fine out of the box.
What do you plan to do with the trigger with carry purpose in mind?

Thanks. Also I only paid 1080 for it. As far as concealed goes I don't have it yet but as soon as I get it in middle of March I will let you know how I hate 1 gun in 30 days

Truly you don't need to do trigger on EMP IMO, specially for carry, it's very good.

But what ever you like best will decide.

Congrats, on your purchase. I will tell you, some of these the extractor will have an issue, my advice is send it directly back to SA on there dime it will come back perfect, (turn around is good) and be issue free. ask me.

I shot an EMP once, and was impressed. Nice little gun. Just the sticker shock got me.

As to the beavertail.... carrying is a very personal thing and depends on your build, your choice in belt/holster and position on the body.

I carry a fullsize 1911 all the time, and the fullsize grip and beavertail are not an issue for me IWB at 3:30.

A little EMP would be easy to hide with the right gear.

                    Awesome gun!

Keep your eye on 3 things:
1- front night sight tends to dim fairly quickly. I have to get a new one from Springfield. But the rear still glows like new.

2-make sure the rear sight set screw is tight, and check it periodically. Mine loosened up and got lost. Springfield sent me a replacement for free.

3-go easy on the grip screws. One of mine broke the head off with no effort. Again Springfield sent a replacement no charge.

These all happened over time, not immediately (except the front night sight, but I don't shoot much in low light so it hasn't really bothered me.)

                    Besides, all minor stuff.

                    Haven't had any problems since.

I am aware that some early models had unpinned ejectors (or extractors, can't remember) that some people sent back for pinning. Might do a quick search on that.

They are really fun to shoot. Accurate too.

                    You're gonna like it.

                    Sorry, not sorry.

Dear autocorrect, I'm really getting tired of your shirt!

I had poor luck with cheap ammo. The EMP 9 seemed to like full power loads. The EMP 40 doesn't seem to care as much.

good choice on the EMP, I have had one for a few years now, great little 9mm.
1 John 4:15 "Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God."

The only 2 things I had to do to my EMP, after carrying it a bit, was to:

                          1. Change the thumb safety for an Ed Brown single sided tactical one (the rear of the factory thumb safety is pretty sharp)
                          2. Black out the rear night sight dots

I changed out the grips for a pair from VZ for a feel I like a bit better.

At some point, I'll likely change the trigger for a flat face one and change out the Novak sights for one with less slope to the body...maybe have a couple of mags converted to flush fit
...because the journey is the worthier part...The Shepherd's Tale

Sounds nice. Right now I have only dry fired it a couple of times then I immediately sent it off to the smith. So I won't even know what the stock trigger is like. Pretty excited. It's unfor that I can't get it till march 11. Damn 1 gun in 30 days. That also means I can't get my next handgun till April. This cooling off period sucks. But the next two months are gonna be like Christmas
