Ya the barrel is done, the lower frame is done and I'm sure the slide and striker are toast also...I need to bring the barrel to the range and show the manager the barrel now that I was able to get it a part...And I think I'm going to leave out that I used reload ammo when I send it back to Springfield

scary lesson. I'd be honest about the reloads though. You may not get your gun replaced but you learned an important lesson.Comment

Errrrrrrrrrrk! Glad you're OK! Good luck to you.Laws against murder and attempted murder should have been the only gun control laws ever needed in America...Comment

SA will look at the barrel and know what caused it.Comment

Why why why do people use other people's reloads. I don't even use my bro-in-laws reloads and he is a competitive shooter. I just don't trust reloaded ammo I didn't reload myself. The Second Amendment ex-tends, prima facie, to all instruments that constitute bearable arms, even those that were not in existence at the time of the founding. - The United States Supreme CourtComment

Good luck with that. Do they require only those reloads on the range? If not, ten you chose to buy them and use them.Starve the beast, move to a free state.

I'm sorry that happened to you. I will say that Springfield WILL know it was reloads. When I was at Glock Armorer training, he told us how they can determine reloads and what it looks like when its reloads.
It looked liked yours on the photos they showed us. They showed us a few firearms that blew up.
I always use factory loads because of warranty with gun manufactures and don't trust reloads from shops or ranges.
Just buy online for factory loads and purchase in bulk. Its alot cheaper and will always have some in stock.sigpicComment

Ya that's one of the first thing the range tells you, you need to use there ammo so I saw nothing wrong with that, just a dumb rookie mistake by assuming they were good rounds...I have shot quit a few reloads from the range with no problem...Last edited by nice shot; 02-20-2015, 8:55 PM.Comment
