Apparently, HR knows what lines they can and cannot cross.
It was obviously returned with satisfactory answers.
My boss knows only because I have told him.
Neither of us has heard a peep from upper management.

I did have serious concerns about this and had various responses prepared if confronted depending on which manager confronted me.

Thats to bad and the Sheriff should just ignore that employer if they won't respond that is if the Sheriff wants to do the right thing. This is a prime example of why checking with others is a bad idea IMO if someone passes a background check they should be good to go.

considering I work and sell guns all day, that's all we talk about, most of have plenty of our own firearms and hunt or shoot avidly and most our managers and people know that we do. so it shouldn't be a big shock to any of them.
our HR was saying shes not allowed to cuz corporate. . so
my head supervisor said he would sign it, but doesn't want to go over HR head and get in trouble, so im waiting for her response from corporate. If not ill have to take a different route to get it done.

My company won't return the form either . . . copy of the employee badge, pay stubs was sufficient to demonstrate location of employment.

On the plus side, if they don't return the form, the IA can't add any work place conditions to your permit based on your employer's request.

what county did you do yours?? I asked and the lady I talked to said I cannot get a permit unless they turn it in. I am going to call tomorrow to ask what else I can do, and who is able to fill it out, I have numerous dept leads who wouldn't have a problem doing it, my dept manager said he would as well if corporate ok'd it.
I think our head boss is kind of anti gun, so don't know how hed be, but I doubt hed let his beliefs cloud the judgement.

The fact that your employer isn't sending the form back could be a bad sign as far as the SBSD is concerned. Much like when a former employer doesn't doesn't return a request for a letter of reference; it's viewed as a negative. Getting an attorney won't help.

              Good luck.

Riverside County was able to deal with it.

Fresno County is one of the most CCW friendly counties in the state. They have this requirement.

If you intend to carry your CCW at your place of employment you will need to furnish an original, signed letter of authorization from your employer stating he acknowledges that you will be carrying a firearm while working, and that you have the company's permission to do so. If you are the owner of the business, you are exempt from this requirement.

My employer did this for me.

I had a similar problem last week. Been a month since I had my interview. I needed a verification the coordinator did not want to do it since she was not my immediate supervisor. However in the email she must have said I am employed there because when I caked the sheriff's back to give them my immediate supervisors email, they said it was already verified by the coordinator. So while the form was not actually filed out, I still got verified.

For me I had to show a pay stub to prove I worked at my job

what county did you do yours in? so your coordinator emailed the sheriff back and said you work there?

Yes. She told them I do work there, but they needed to send the verification form to my immediate supervisor's email. I caked back to give them my immediate supervisors email and she told me there was no need as since the coordinator verified it.

Good question. Some folks have been asking for years. So far, there's no answer that I know of other than the begging non-answer: "because some sheriffs wanna."
                              .

Are you absolutely sure about this? OC DOES NOT ask for employer verification? The owners of my company are heavy anti gunners and I have no doubt I'd be terminated if they knew I was a CCW holder.
