1/1/2023 - I have subsequently moved out of Solano County. Never got the okay to attend training.
Over 4 months and I still don't have my CCW. I hope it goes more smoothly here in Nevada County where I moved.

Yes do the training prior to reapplying because when you apply you will have to upload certificate showing training has been completed.

P.S. Make sure the serial numbers on your CCW application are accurate - it can cause an extremely long delay. (sounds obvious, but it happens my fault 100%)

10 months start to finish. Actually add 3 months before the application because they required me to get a CA Real ID to even apply, I had other Real IDs. No blemishes anywhere on my record of any kind. I had to email several times to remind them I was still waiting.
