For anyone who has used the online system and uploaded their training certificate, did you send an email or anything to announce you had uploaded the document? Also, any idea on turnaround timeframe after training certs uploaded?

13July is when I submitted my training documents. I was told it will take some time. I presume maybe 2-3 more weeks for me before I'm emailed to pick up my papers.

              Thanks!
Drew it's all online now. I got My renewal approved email within a week of submitting everything.

The online process really speeds things up. I took Dave Adams firearm quals on Saturday, 7/22. I submitted the renewal application online Monday, 7/24, and I picked up my CCW today, 8/3. I was expecting it to take 4 - 6 weeks.

Yeah I started early based on passed timeframes. The new system is so fast I lost a month off my permit due to the issue date of the new one vs the expiration date of the old one.

                    Hi all!

Just received my livescreen clearance, this morning, and to proceed to training via text and email!

                    4/10/17 CCW Application submitted
                    8/24/2017 Initial appointment
5/8/17 received email about additional initial Ccw appointments and rescheduled
5/23/17 interview completed and proceed to LiveScan
5/25/17 LiveScan completed (I know a few people moved forward within 1 month of LiveScan, but I've had issues with my name being entered weird on my DMV record which caused a delay with my previous LiveScan for employment)
8/9/17 Proceed to training and scheduled for 9/2017

trainig and qualification here I come!

How is the climate looking currently for new CCW applicants in Solano County? My record is not squeaky clean (I have a firearms-related offense on my record--nothing violent or anything, just an "equipment violation" kind of thing.) It was a misdemeanor that resulted in probation, which I satisfactorily completed earlier this year, and the crime has since been expunged. My firearms rights have been fully restored (what a funny thing to say--is it a 'right' or not?) Is this something that is going to make it hard/impossible for me to exercise my right to bear?

Also, I remember reading a while back that there is someone who has made a business of helping people through the process of obtaining a CCW. Do you guys recommend him for my situation? Are his costs reasonable?

I would say you are probably out of luck, from everything I have heard is you need to be squeaky clean.

Not sure who you are referring to n other portion of question but it may be Blueridge Consulting.

Nope. Im a permanent denial with the current sheriff. I was denied for numerous law enforcement contacts, traffic violations. Dave is a good dude,I plan on taking his CCW course when my job slows down a bit. As far as prices go you get what you pay for.

I was initially approved on my application but denied in background due to my "arrest history". Like you everything has been expunged for more than 20 years. So to answer your question, no the sheriff does not believe you have a right to bear arms outside your home for self defense. Not without his blessing anyway. But you won't know unless you try.

That's not entirely true, you simply must have a clean record. Not that it's right but those are his rules.

He is the only Sherrif in the Bay Area issuing permits so that is a miracle in itself he just requires a clean background.

When you say you were "initially approved" do you mean you were told to proceed to training? Or did it not go that far? Trying to weigh my odds of being denied after having just spent the money on training.
