Yes, I got my proceed to training email and dropped off my training cert at the front desk.

I emailed Deputy Pinder yesterday and got a response stating that "my file was under final review at this time". So just sounds like the wheels of bureaucracy simply turn slow and that all is proceeding per the systems plan.

Surrendered my Solano CCW a few weeks ago as I no longer need it.

          Renewal Submitted Today

Well, it is hard to believe that it has been 2 years, but on 7/21/2017 it will be 2 years, so time to renew.

Took the BRC renewal class this morning, shot my quals with 3 guns this time instead of just 2, and then submitted the renewal app online.

I must admit that the improvement to the process since my initial CCW was issued by moving it online with online payment and supporting doc submittal is pretty impressive for a government agency, especially when the result is to make it easier to get a CCW in CA, no less.

Had an odd thing come up when I printed the package after I submitted it. On question 6 (restraining order) I answered NO in the checkbox as I have never had a restraining order issued against me. Of course, since I answered NO, I did not fill in anything in the explanation box below the question. However, when I printed it, the word "FALSE" showed up in the explanation box. ????? It looks like some sort of programming bug, but it is a little unsettling as it could be interpreted to mean that something thinks my NO answer was false. Yikes!

I sent an email to the Sheriff's office asking about this, so hopefully it is simply some sort of programming bug in the report that is generated from the application package.

Anyone else see this error on the printed application package after filling out and submitting the online application or renewal?

I will post here with whatever answer I get from the Sheriff's office.

240z, I submitted my renewal application recently and have since received notice of approval. I just looked at my printed packet and see the same thing you did. "False" is present in the text box for question 6 regarding restraining orders. I don't think I noticed at the time I originally completed the application but it clearly isn't anything to be concerned about, as I have been approved, just trying to set an appointment to pick up my new permit. I wouldn't stress about it.

              240z,

When I printed out my initial app for record purposes, it said the same "FALSE". I brought it up during my application drop off/interview and Deputy Pinder said it was fine and automatically generates when marked "No".

6 weeks since dropping of training certificates and no word yet. Anyone else still in a holding pattern or have heard of any licenses being issued recently?

Submitted my renewal app on 4/28, had the new permit in hand on 6/7. Pretty quick!

The Sheriff confirmed that it is a programming issue.

                    Nothing to worry about.

Thanks to all who responded as well.

                      It's a Record

                      Wow!

I completed my renewal class last Saturday 6/10.

I submitted my online application and paperwork that evening, 6/10.

I just received my approval email to schedule a time to come in and pick up my renewed license.

                      1 day!

Clearly, the Sheriff has made a commitment to improve this process and has had great success. As someone who spent many years in manufacturing improving processes, I really appreciate the progress the Sheriff's office has made in modernizing and improving this process. We in Solano County are lucky to have a Sheriff that not only issues, but commits resources and budget dollars to making the process better when he does not have to do so.

My interview is tomorrow. I am a little nervous and I'm not sure why. I want to make sure I'm prepared as much as possible. I have my printed application and my utility bills. Anything else helpful to have ready for them?

Don't worry about it, Deputy Pinder is simply going to go over everything on your application to make sure it is accurate. And he is a really nice guy.

Deputy Pinder is super easy to work with. I'm actually really grateful to live in this county. Going Thursday for livescan.

                                Process timeline so far:

                                5-23-17 submitted application
                                6-13-17 interview
                                6-15-17 livescan

I'm grateful to this forum and Charles Dobbs for guidance.
