          Congrats JMed,

Now comes the waiting. I'm going 3 weeks, tomorrow, for livescan results.

            UPDATE!

            BRC class 8/2/16
            Call for appointment 8/5/16
            Turn in Application 9/19/16
            Livescan 9/19/16
            Proceed to Training 2/22/17
            Training Complete 4/15/17
            Turn In Certification 4/21/17
Pickup CCW Permit 6/16/17 (was emailed 6/12/17 notifying me it was ready to pick up)

So...nearly 9 months from time I submitted my application and did livescan until I got my permit. Glad it's over. Relatively painless process and from what I hear, it's getting easier with the new online system.

How do you guys carry your permit? I was surprised to see the actual permit is not sized very wallet friendly. Would imagine after laminating it, that it's even more difficult to fit into your wallet.

Congrats, not wallet friendly indeed I had mine laminated then trimmed it down as much as possible then folded it in half and keep it in the bill section of my wallet.

I laminated my first copy and folded it small enough to fit behind my CDL.

Unfortunately, the creases made some parts of the license impossible to read through the laminate and the resulting wad was big enough that it bent all the cards on that side of my wallet, cracking my ATM card...

I just folded the new one inside out, no laminate, and tucked it behind my CDL. I am not sure how well it will survive that way, but so far, I cannot figure out anything better for fitting it into my wallet.

However, it is hard to complain about this when there are many in nearby counties that cannot exercise their right to keep and bear arms.

I folded the sides of the paper before laminating it to make it a little smaller. After trimming the edges down on the laminate and folding it similar to a letter, it will fit in most CC slots.

I noticed my CCW expires on 8/14/2017. For those of you that renewed recently, did you have to make an appointment to drop off your targets and other documents? Or could you just drop them off during business hours? They didn't have this online system last time I renewed.

                    Thanks!

You apply online. It took me 5 weeks from when I applied online to the time I picked my permit up. After you apply, you take the class then submit your certification online. Once approved you will receive an email to pick up your permit. I picked my permit up the day after getting the email.

For those of you who renewed, did you use the same justification as you used initially to apply or did you generate something new?

If you get an email instructing you to schedule a training, are you essentially approved, provided you qualify?

Pretty much yes but they will do a final review once you submit training certs.

Just finished up my training course and qualified with three firearms. I highly recommend Dobbs firearm training. He's down to earth and easy to work with.
