I had my interview Thu 4/13 AM with a non-sworn staffer. Same deal as others have reported, they have a checklist of basically walking through your entire application and asking some basic questions along the way. Took 15-20 minutes in total.

If you have any non-resident CCW permits from out of state, bring them along since he asked to view them in-person. Otherwise, no other documents were needed other than your DL or ID to prove you are who you say you are for the interview.

The staffer said due to the sudden influx of interviews in this new clinic format, they anticipate the backlog will stretch the psych evals out close to 4-6 weeks from here. It was previously more like a 2-week window.

As folks have also pointed out, this is a completely step-wise process, don't do anything until you are done with psych (no LiveScan, no training, etc.).

Overall, the staffer was very enthusiastic to be doing this, and I told him that I understand that all our collective frustration should be directed upwards in the leadership chain (and ultimately at every voter here in SCC that maintain our status quo).

Until the next bureaucratic hurdle.... onwards.

During my interview (weeks ago) I was told the livescan backlog and wait will take a long time. They won’t accept my 3rd party scan used for SJPD for example. Most likely they go internal - they have a livescan area from the lobby.

After that, training will be completed within 90 days after they tell you to go train - apparently so it will be fresh on your mind. I worry full classes and not being able to time your appointments will cause huge issues with the huge infux of applicants. What if everything is booked out 90 days?

Realistically, after your interview it may still be 4-6 months at least until you get your ccw.

On a side note - SJPDs process has also halted. Finished interview and livescan. Ghosted for 3 weeks. And now told to wait an unknown amount of time. Unsure if they can use my psyche results for SCC. Very frustrating process on both sides.

Have you completed the psych eval for SCC yet?

I had my interview this morning. Officer (captain) was really nice. Just some basic questions. Got there 15 min early and went back for interview after 5 minutes and took around 15 minutes total.

Of general interest to everyone, I'm sure....

Many more gun owners are seeking California concealed carry permits as Democratic leaders try again to limit where weapons are allowed.

            Such a hot mess.

Update today - realized I forgot to mention a motor vehicle accident on my application / interview.

It was a minor accident that happened in the garage (scraped car on a pole), so I totally forgot about it until now, when I saw the repair invoice while organizing documents.

I have emailed the CCW department's listed email with this information and will update when (or if) I receive a response.

I disclosed two other accidents on my app, so I hope that this will be summarily added to my application, but I am not entirely sure. Anyone think I should also go ahead and call them to make sure?

Good luck getting ahold of anyone. I?ve emailed a dozen times. No response. I?ve called probably 50-60 times. No answer and the voicemail is always full. Report back if you?re able to get ahold of anyone! Good luck!

                  I don’t think I’d worry about it.

Do you mean that you don't think you'd worry about trying to call them?

Correct. Just my opinion of course but your failure to disclose scraping your car against a pole in a garage is most likely not something for you to worry about. Contacting them via phone or email is next to impossible so your only option is really to drive there and tell them of the error in person. If it were me, I would not worry about it.

if it's not on your driving record, did it happen?

I filed an insurance claim for the repair, so I believe it is on my driving record.

i hate to sound like a broken record.. but has anyone that got interviewed got any updates yet??

I interviewed 2 weeks ago and have heard nothing.. and they said I should hear back within a week.

Nobody answers the phone... calls go to a full voicemail... and no responses from email.

                            Very frustrating.
