Congratulations! looks like it takes almost a month after range qualification.

Hope to meet some of you at Saber Tactics on tomorrow/9th Sept. I attempted the qualification 15, 7 and 5 yards hitting 20 rounds/25 in 8 ring of B27 last week it was borderline pass.

Happy to report another success: picked up my permit today!

Applied on 2/28, got into interview on 4/12 clinic day (original was in December), timelines in between similar to what people posted here.

Couple things: range qual was with ASP, their fees are lower than the typical elsewhere, quality is probably on par - i.e. they cover basic safety and carry laws, if you really need the training for shooting and carry competency, you need to take many more extensive classes, watch a lot of YT and practice, practice, practice.

Also I've been told that only the small card is required for carrying within Santa Clara county, and the second paper MAY be required in other counties because they MAY not recognize the SCC license. I have no idea why - the paper and the card are titled "License to carry within the State of California", contain exactly the same info, same number and issuing agency.

I really encourage people to think about their CCW class as more than just checking off a box.

I will drive farther, wait a little longer in line, and pay a little more to buy a good burger that I enjoy than simply drive to the nearest fast food place to stuff my face with something bleh I simply tolerate. Both accomplish the same task of eating but one is more rewarding and a better experience. Why put less thought into selecting your CCW class than you do in where to eat? See what each class offers in training material, compare that to the distance/time it takes to get there and how much it costs, and then decide which offers you the best value. Quality doesn't always match price, but price is your only criteria then you're more likely to get low quality than not.

Well, someone didn't miss a chance to get on the high horse with long-winded irrelevant metaphors. Using clever quoting techniques, mind you, ignoring the content hidden behind the comma, and using the time-tested rhetorical device of attacking a different argument from what was proposed.

So do tell us convincingly, how's your chicken parmesan better than everyone else's.

Unless you have tried every burger joint on the approved list, there is no way to know which is better. Regardless, it is subjective anyway.

Question - with a valid CCW can one carry more than one gun registered under CCW? like one on person other in glove box or car holster?

                  Bad Order Number

Permitium website responds "Bad order number was entered" when trying to login to the Order Tracker. Anyone else?

This has happened to me. If you email Permitium customer service with your info, they can help send you a new link/correct this issue

Value is always subjective. How do you find a new place to eat? You find what's out there (approved instructor list), check if their menu looks interesting for the price (class description) and read reviews from people who've been there. It's not a guarantee you'll enjoy the place but it's better than saying "I'm going to the cheapest burger joint I can find. I assume the food is edible and food is food."

CCW training is about protecting your life and the life of those you care about. It's a lot more than just basic safety and firearm laws.

5-months today since my interview (4/12/2023).

Still waiting on ... well LEPS or the SCC sheriff's office (I have not received any confirmation that I am on the LEPS list). I am sure that many others are in the same boat, and I have yet to see any significant uptick in the rate that these applications are being processed.

Thats 5-months for a permit that is supposed to last for 2 years. and still need the LEPS test and one on one meeting (last I heard they were scheduling in November), the fingerprint process (1-3 month for most folks), the required class (1-4 weeks), the range test (at the class), actually picking up the permit (about a month). Realistically, even if I do the fingerprint stuff overlapping with the psychological evaluation, I would be lucky to get the permit by December.

I know that this is mostly complaining but this is entirely inappropriate and a violation of my and others constitutional rights.

Do not click the order tracker link through the email. For whatever reason that is janky and you need to open it from a fresh new tab. Happened to me a few times and that was my workaround.

Go onto Permitium via SCCO CCW Webpage, then open the order tracker and input your information again.

I got to the bottom of it. The link is scso.permitium.com/order_tracker. The email they sent a while back has santaclaraca.permitium.com/order_tracker, which doesn?t work.

I wouldn't bother, just don't carry the two. You'll be using up brain cycles at the Esso that are in short supply.
