    I'm thinking the same thing. I can imagine the Sheriff's Office is running around crazy with what they have going on with a new boss (yet to be determined) coming in, and now a CCW process that can't just be brushed off and ignored.

    There are going to be hoops, and I want those hoops defined so I can jump through them.

    I already ran down the entire application and I've got NOT A THING that will hold up anything. It only goes back 5 years for anything so that's even better (having been at the same residence longer than that).

    I just need to jump through the ambiguous hoops (as I suspect just about everyone here is in the same boat).

    There's also a "psychological" requirement as well, which I'm curious about too. Again, not too terribly concerned, but when, where and how much cost and time will be burnt up spending on that hoop is an unknown as well.
    Before there was Polymer there was Accuracy.

      For folks live in San Jose, should you apply directly via SJPD's website or apply the CCW with county sheriff's office directly?
      SJPD has their own CCW page and accept online applications where county sheriff only accepts in-person or mail applications (which I guess will magically lost on the way)

            A similar situation exists with Santa Clara PD that I am trying to find out more information about. In past years, Santa Clara PD has been the IA for their reserve officers, so I still am not clear if there is a MOU with SCC for this city.

            The last time I inquired, my questions were met with the Sound of Silence.

                Which version? S&G or Disturbed's?

                    Hey now, I think David Draiman actually has a pretty good voice. To compare, listen to any of the acoustic/vocal stuff he's done. It's not all hard rock/metal.

                      I am not aware of an MOU that states 'we _(agency)_ defer all civilian CCW applications to the county sheriff, but will continue to grant CCWs to our officers as we see fit' - they just do it.

                      SJPD does the same thing as Santa Clara for their reserve officers.

                          Did you make a campaign contribution for Laurie Smith? LOL, I know I am being snarky, but I'm so happy she's in legal jeopardy and regular guys like you will be able to carry, soon.

                            I don't follow that band but it sure seems a breakout song they did well. They were on every station, streaming and talk shows for months. The "shocking" rendition was terrific.

                              If your first response is to go on the defensive and blocklist then you aren't really helping the team at all are you? "Sources" of hearsay are exactly that if we can't verify any of the info and hold these agencies accountable for their transgressions.

                              Laurie Smith isn't exactly a shining example of doing anything properly at this point, so we're supposed to take your word (or your "source" word) for it?

                                I'm sure you know- it's a blast to play Disturbed's version for someone the first time. Their expression transforms from;

                                Wuht?
