Well, today is two weeks since i have paid my final fee and I haven't yet received communication to pick up the permit. Two weeks seemed to be the going rate for time duration between these particular steps. Pretty frustrated waiting for this part when it seems all that is needed is the worlds busiest mans signature on a piece of paper.

I'm confused why they don't, like every other sane agency, mail them to the recipients via USPS when completed. Requiring in-person pick-up is just yet another hardship (as if there aren't enough already).
Utterly frustrating how ridiculous all of this nonsense is. No wonder so many people just carry without a license at this point.... it's just a misdemeanor, right? Hah.SCC CCW *326 Days, $1051.29*

Jeez, now that I think of it, why don't we just add a "No Crimes Allowed" sign in front of every city? Crime problem solved, police disbanded, instantly.

As I posted several weeks ago, I was given the standard email of ? congrats your application has been approved. Please contact us to set up your pick up appt?. I immediately did just that and received a responding email that read ? thanks for contacting us, we will be in touch to give you a date and time for pickup of your permit within the next two weeks?: I got a call just over 4 weeks later to come down and pick it up that day. Those extra two weeks after their own timeline were excruciating. As I look back 6-7 weeks later, it was kind of a pain but I?d do it all over again in a minute. Hang in there all, it will eventually happen.Comment

500+ Applicants waiting. I don't know how that correlates to timelines here as it is not clear the volume of their normal workload. It seems to be implied here that 500+ is a lot. Their website indicates that the local office (and presumably their satellite office in Oakland) services the north bay down to the central coast. Given that, Santa Clara county applicants probably make up only a small fraction of that number. So, I take this as only a small indication of progress.
I was told my name would be sent to LEPS early last week. I have a pending email asking for a status of my application (e.g., if they received it and if they could send a scheduling email). Given the email provided by another above I suspect they may be holding off on sending scheduling emails to more applicants as they don't seem to have slots available for the ones they already have.Comment

I just picked up my permit. Got the call about an hour ago and I immediately went down there.
Found out some interesting things from Daniel Llegas (spelling might be wrong for his last name)
Daniel called me for the pickup. He didn't have a title so I am not sure he is sworn. I noticed he was typing in all my information into Permitium. He told me they haven't any way to connect their system to theirs and they cannot import data (I find that difficult to accept) He said Permitium was sold as one thing but in reality, it was another. He said since it had been accepted as the defacto system country wide, all departments are in the same boat and features that were sold are now promised in future updates. Daniel also told me I was sort of a guinea pig. Seems the CCW division was kicked out of the offices they were occupying and put into the room next door. They had the camera on a shelf and I stood 8 feet away against the wall for the picture. Daniel also told me that the current rule of carrying the DOJ issued tiny piece of paper along with the SCC issued card may not be a thing in the future and only the card will be required when carrying. The whole process is clearly not well thought out and a total fuster cluck. I feel really bad for the folks after those of us in the 4/12 batch for what they have to endure.FSC CARDS - I am a DOJ Certified Instructor ** Renewal or new FSC.
