So the 10mm barrel counts as a firearm? Also can U add guns to the list after the application has been turned in already?

    10mm. Because .45ACP just doesn't cut it anymore. <Trailerparktrash>

Yay! Initial interview over with no red flags. Everyone there is very professional. Said to expect a call in 6 to 8 months. They told me there were 35 showing up today.

Did take their 1-day 16 hour class. It was good and worked out well for me and I have nothing to compare it to. There were about a dozen of us with 2 instructors. Range qualification was done around noon time at a private range with some shooting anywhere from 1-3 guns to qualify. Website does mention that you should be proficient with your handgun and that the class wasn't for beginners. It was rainy and windy when we went to the range so the targets got soaked, ripped, and blown over. They then switched to shooting clay pigeons as a target which got really interesting since this is where you really saw who has been out in the range on their own to be proficient or to just shoot off rounds.

Area is right next to a pizza restaurant and a couple of other places to eat so you didn't have to walk too far on breaks.

When the investigator calls if I was unable to pickup the phone, will they leave a message so I can return the call or am I sol? Lol

For me when they got to my file the investigator did leave a message for me. He also sent me a email stating he was going to be in charge of my file.

Putting paperwork together. Next step call for appointment. Do you know if I can add firearm to the list before the permit is issued?

You can add a gun before the permit is issued as long as you qualify on that weapon. You can do it afterwards too but you still need to qualify on it and pay a fee. $10 I believe.

I have heard conflicting stories, are off roster guns allowed, particularly a Glock 43?

                          Thanks

Picked up my permit on Dec. 30th with a Glock 30S (off roster). Which was fine. Also, was able to add a pistol registered under my wife to my permit as well (just in case anyone was wondering about that).

In regards to changes before issuing, you should contact your investigator with the change. I forgot to inform him and they made the modifications at pickup. Basically whatever you qualified with on your certificate. Just took a little longer in the office.

Although I do not have any OFF Roster firearms, I am curious were you able to put the handgun as it's intended caliber? Or is it listed as the caliber it was DROS'd (SSE)?

Maybe I missed it explained somewhere, but I was under the impression SSE guns were DROS'd as a different caliber? I know some IA's will allow SSE guns and some don't...

One way to cleanup a SSE handgun is do a interfamily transfer to you spouse then have them transfer it back to you . Gun will now be registered in right caliber and in your name and you are out only 19 dollars each time but you can do 3 guns at a time so that might help reduce the cost per gun
