I got off work, picked up the Mrs. and arrived in... work clothes.
Carhartt work pants, T shirt and boots. The staff wasn't at all surprised.

I figured a ccw should be an everyday thing so I would wear everyday cloths. I was at 9 am in may so a nice cool morning made sense for the hoodie. And shorts to be prepared when I take it off.

Interview went great. Was told to call them in Feb if I don't hear anything. I said im planning on at least 6 months. Interviewer stated that the courts have given them a time frame that they have to meet, though he didn't say what it was. He was confident turn time will significantly decrease, meaning faster issuance. Reminded me to call in February if I'm still waiting.

Has anyone had an investigator, at the initial interview, ask for a tax return to provide proof of business ownership? I declined and provided a copy of my resellers permit and business license.

Interviewed May 02nd (7 months today) and no contact. Hopefully not to much longer if May 07th has been given the thumbs up (congrats Life Is Good).

I picked up my CCW today. I arrived at the PSD at 0900 and left at 10:10. I would like to provide a couple of tips based on my experience today:

*** Bring your Certificate of Completion for your 16 hour course, even if you have submitted it prior. They will only take the serial numbers of the 3 guns from your certificate for your permit. This is the MOST SIGNIFICANT TIME SAVER!!

*** Bring a CHECK for the $75 balance due. It is what they EXPECT, and it makes things quicker.

*** Be patient! The investigator has to HAND TYPE your Gun Serial numbers and descriptions on an actual typewriter while you wait (if you don't know what that is, go ask your dad.) You've waited this long, another 15 minutes is not going to kill you.

*** Your permit has the picture they took on your first interview day, so no need to wear a tie, but still you shouldn't look like a "scrub" (it is the Professional Standards Division after all.)

*** 2 Thumbprints, so skip the lotion.

For those who are following along: Interview date 04/30 CCW pickup 12/02 7 Months, 2 days. Be patient everyone!
