Well that's great news. Only asking because one of my carry pistols has a Stipple job, rmr and aftermarket trigger shoe. Would have been a pain to not be able to carry that particular pistol.

    Thanks for the input.

Be wary of that trigger shoe. The extra width may cause an ND in some holsters.

Good point. I actually tested it out with a snap cap with multiple draws. The dingus has nothing to get caught up on. But I can see this happening with other pistols.

        Great advice.

I just got an email and text message informing me that my renewal was approved 8 DAYS after submitting my renewal application on Permitium. No one even called to ask the standard questions that used to constitute the interview portion of the renewal process. Now all I have to do is take the 4-hour class, upload the certificate, and go in to pick up the new permit before my current one expires. The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department is really streamlining this process for us!

Yeah, the process is way faster now. But they still only have 2 days a week to pick up permits, so maybe look at reserving a spot now. I went online and reserved a pick up date right after completing my class and pick up appointments were 2 months out.

The current wait is not too long. I had no problem getting a pick up appointment before my current permit expires. But two years ago, my renewal was approved less than a week before my permit’s expiration date, so I called and they made sure I was able to come in that same week. I think they’re still willing to work with people to make sure they’re able to pick up permits before their current permits expire. The approval email I received even said, “If you have problems or questions scheduling your appointment call our office, and we can assist you with your pick-up appointment.”

Another great experience with Duncan & First Response Training over the weekend. Thanks to you & your staff Duncan, we are good for another 2 years. Much appreciated.

Just did my renewal application today, seeing these fast renewal processing times has my hopes up.
Curious how long this is going to take
My only curiosity is, when I applied originally, I never had a photo taken nor did I have one taken for my first renewal, don't know if they will ask me to come in and get that done before they renew it or just do it when I go to pick it up

I'm pretty sure they'll be taking a picture of you when you pickup and adding that picture to the hard plastic card they're issuing now. That's what they did for my modification about 6 months ago.

Does anyone have any update on the SB2 enforcement for the San Joaquin County come January 1, 2024?

Can someone please help me understand what I need to do to add an additional gun to my CCW?

Do I need to go through the entire application process or can I walk into my LGS, shoot the qual and have them sign off or, reach out to Robin and have him take me through it?

For San Joaquin you log into Permitium to add/modify your permit. You also need to shoot the qual with that new firearm, supervised by an approved CCW vendor, and upload that qual proof to Permitium as well. No additional classroom instruction required.

If you're interested I am teaching a San Joaquin CCW class at Elite Armory in Tracy this weekend and can run that qual during lunchtime. PM or email me for details.

Don't think it would be a problem.
