Ok I got the call this morning at 8:30AM that my permit is signed, but, it went to VM as I was sleeping in.
I am trying to call back the number and my phone just drops the call right away. I even tried google voice and got a busy tone.
      Anyone else experienced this?

Turns out she gave me the wrong number. Now its just going to VM, so hopefully someone will check it soon

10/24, picked up my CCW. Hard to describe out elated I am. My dad always wanted his CCW in San Francisco and he just passed away last month before I could pickup my permit

What's the best way to request an application drop-off appointment if SFPD's phone number keeps going to voicemail?

I tried my best to dig through these 23 pages and found 5 relevant comments but I'm still not sure how to proceed after two phone call attempts that reached their voicemail.

Email them. When I inquired about potentially switching from sfso to sfpd, they answered me the same morning.

Has anyone with a SFPD-issued CCW permit tried to add a pistol to it?

My CA P365 is incoming and I'd like to understand if SFPD will resist the paperwork needed to amend my permit.

When I picked it up a few months ago, the CCW unit officer indicated theyre not adding pistols to permits quite yet.

                  So an update 11/2023

There slow rolling my application now. It's at the discretionary phase, because I had a gun stolen out of my car 10 years ago. It was early on in the car break-in days and the firearm was in my trunk. Maybe they're going to peg me as irresponsible? The CCW Coordinator put it on 'hold.'

I had my psych eval and interview in July and I only asked about an update two weeks ago.

                  And as of now, nothing.

So I got my letter today for Psych... It said Livescan was complete. Anyone know how far out a typical appointment for Psych is? I haven't emailed the office yet to get one. Just curious. I'm out of country in mid-June, hence the question.

Zero concealed carry weapons licenses have been issued by San Francisco Sheriff Paul Miyamoto since New York State Rifle & Pistol Assn., Inc. v. Bruen was decided in June 2022.

Oh and my experience so far:
                  7/2022 Called for appointment
9/2022 Appt with Officer Johnson to turn in app (first available since the call in July)
10/2022 Interview with Officer Ospital(?) I think he's CID?
4/2023 Going for Livescan got a call from Officer Duduroff at the end of March.

                  Slow going indeed.

During my permit pickup, the officer stated there was no clear policy at the moment on amending firearms listed on the permit. She hinted at waiting until renewal time to add new firearms.

SFPD has barely figured out their process to issue permits, let alone amending for new firearms or even the DL-style card. I'd say we won't get a definitive answer until next year (or the year after).

I remember this being addressed, but can’t find it…. Saber Tactics wants holsters for all your firearms…. There isn’t much info on their site and I haven’t heard back from them. Is IWB ok for this class, or are they wanting OWB? Thanks!

We would like any holster that's concealable. Inside or outside the waistband, as long as it can be concealed.

DTSS, I think our timelines are similar. My application has been on the Chief of Police's desk for approval since mid November, i'd imagine yours is waiting for a signature as well, or you've been approved already. During APAC the CCW office was closed and reopened last week. The last update I got was that there will be a signing meeting late next week so I think the approvals will be done then.

I emailed the CCW Unit on 11/29 to confirm that they received my certificates. They replied that they received them. They are probably waiting for all the December training to be completed and approve everyone at the same time. Thanks for the update!
