Awesome, do you know if they require IWB only or they are ok with OWB holster? I put down my two handguns in my CCW, Glock 19 and Sig P226 but I only have a OWB holster for the P226 (honestly its on my CCW as emergency, glock 19 i expect to be daily)
Edit: NVM on their site they seem to say only OWB. Sent them an email asking clarification. But looks like the earliest I can fit in my schedule is the Sept 9/10 dates so hopefully I can wrap everything up by then and get my CCW for the fall.Last edited by ca_sig_z; 08-11-2023, 12:47 PM.Comment

OWB is fine, no need to be IWB. All the training is done with OWB, and for the quals you can use either. It just needs to be a hard kydex holster.Originally posted by luchador768We also had a lot of wannabe gangsters putting the display pistols down thier pants to "try them on.". To be safe use Fed HST or Win T series. I think this is the same ammo Chesa Boudins folks used so "no worries". His mom favored Fed and his dad would only shoot cops with T series. Oh, and I'm being ironical.Last edited by marcusrn; 08-11-2023, 4:32 PM.sigpicComment

Since all of you have done the heavy leg work (thank you so much for your efforts) and have been able to pick up permits, I am going to submit initial application now. Retired Firefighter/paramedic (not that it matters) now physician assistant, lots of late nights in TL at hospital etc... does anyone have any thoughts on SFPD vs SFCSO? Thanks everyone for fighting the good fightComment

I would do SFPD. Since that is the way I went, I can?t speak to the SO route, but seems that PD issues a little faster and has a more refined process.Since all of you have done the heavy leg work (thank you so much for your efforts) and have been able to pick up permits, I am going to submit initial application now. I agree with Bullittshark, SFPD is the best way to go right now. I went with Defensive Accuracy for training at the Richmond location since it was the closest and had the earliest dates available back in May. Also got my CCW insurance through their class as well as my AZ and UT CCW permits covering well over 50% of the states.Last edited by CalPatriot63; 08-14-2023, 9:39 PM.Comment

Do you have to carry both or are they interchangeable?
If its possible to blur out details, im interested to see what the smaller one looks like. Others have already posted their laminated permit for SFPD.

I’m getting closer (SFSO)… Psyc in a few weeks. Had another meeting with the Sheriff I’ve been dealing with, he was sticking to the firearm brand list he handed me when I first applied in February. I hear SFPD has no such list. My favorite brand is NOT on that list and I’m curious if anyone with SFSO has gotten their permit with any of their 3 being a quality brand that isn’t on that decade old list they handed me?Comment

Never heard of a "brand list"; when I applied with SFPD (still in process; firearms training scheduled), the LEOs reviewing the app did raise an eyebrow on two of my listed firearms (off-rosters), but never questioned it or told me what was allowed/not allowed.I?m getting closer (SFSO)? Congratulations and good info!
I was curious what we are going to be physically issued (card size-wise) as no-one has mentioned it yet.Comment
