I received my permit today as well. My timeline is below.
The Officer I met with mentioned a few things I had not read before and I believe are worth sharing:
- If you lose your laminated permit card, a police report must be filed (to prevent unauthorized third-party use).
- They don't yet have a process set up for adding firearms to the permit
- Close to 100 permits issued to date!
End to end: My permit took 7.7 months.

Great stats charmingsocks, thanks! Interesting to see you got yours much faster than a lot of us; not really evident as to why. My record and references were impeccable and it took just under 11 months vs 7.7.
Mind you, I?m not complaining in the slightest [emoji4] I still find it a bit unbelievable I can actually and finally walk around in SF concealed carrying as a true, ?free? citizen under rights granted to me by our beloved Constitution.Last edited by CalPatriot63; 08-08-2023, 3:06 PM.Comment

Great stuff Socks! I expect all of these averages to come down over time. In their defense, they didn?t have a process when I first applied, but seems like they have one now.I've also compiled stats from the 4 applicants including myself who posted completed timelines in this thread. Interesting to see you got yours much faster than a lot of us; not really evident as to why. When I had my SIU interview in January '23, the officer who interviewed me mentioned that they were still determining the process for next steps (live scan).I expect all of these averages to come down over time. In their defense, they didn?t have a process when I first applied, but seems like they have one now.
It looks like SFPD started scheduling live scan for folks in earnest around Feb/March '23, roughly 7-8 months after the Bruen decision.Comment

A concealed carry permit is not an expression of liberty. There were no such permits in the period in which Bruen applies.Great stats charmingsocks, thanks! That may well be the case back then, but was quite obviously important enough for our Founders to take a pen to and carry forward in the Constitution for our Republic.Comment

Made an account just to post that I finally got my CCW in San Francisco.
4/12/23 - Dropped off application
5/01/23 - Interview with an officer to verify application information
5/10/23 - Fingerprinting
5/18/23 - Emailed to schedule psychological exam with LEPS
5/24/23 - Took the questionnaire portion, over a thousand questions that seems like one of those online personally quizzes to figure out what zodiac sign you are
6/6/23 - Video meeting with live psychologist, took 30 minutes and just verified things on the personality quiz
7/04/23 - Approved for 16 hour training and live fire
7/22/23 - Day 1 of training
7/23/23 - Day 2 of training
8/05/23 - License approved
My suggesting to anyone doing this is to constantly call them because they take forever to do the next step.Comment
