I went to renew mine last Tuesday and because of some rain the week before there were A LOT of people at Route 66 to qualify. I believe about 32. Qualifying went fairly smooth for that large of a group. Shout out to the guys and gals at Route 66 for doing what it takes to make things run as smooth as possible. They also called ahead to the SBSD to let them know a lot of people were headed their way.

The Sheriff's were great even though they got overrun with freedom loving patriots. We were in and out in less than 15 minutes. Also know there is a section of the renewal paperwork that states not to fill it out or sign it until you are in front of a witness. Go ahead and fill it out or you'll be sitting in their lobby filling it out when you get there. Have you r paperwork in order and it should go pretty quick.

Did they (as they should) inform you of the system being down so your renewal is just going into a stack with others from the last month?

EVERYTHING!!!
They were hacked in early April and the answer for when they will be processing again is 'we don't know'.

You can email the CCW office and see if they give you a better answer than they gave myself and others.

I?m 90 days out from my first renewal today.

Assuming they weren?t hacked. Would they have emailed me a renewal notice? Do I need to wait for that before I do anything?

Can I just take it upon myself to fill out the paperwork, watch the videos, and do my range test without notice?

I figure I better get on it ASAP for any chance of timely renewal.

If they have your current email addy you should (normally) get a renewal email.
It is my understanding no emails have gone out since the hack the first week or so of April.

I guess you?re right. That?s the one step I cannot complete without the email.

I was also at this Saturday's class... didnt get my ccw since I swapped out some pistols. Hopefully it will come in the mail in the next few weeks!

No definitive ETA and probably going to be a while, they are still trying to get they're whole system back online. That hack really effed them up.

They need to get things going. Some of us are now expired. They have no way to get around the DOJ 6 month limit for expired permits either.

Ya it sucks... this shouldn't have even happened int he first place if they had better security systems in place. Hopefully they get everything back up and running soon.
