And just a reminder for those who have class at Apple Valley.
I've added a secondary destination to Waze "SBSD AVGC CCW" that will direct you straight to the door of the classroom.
The general Waze destination goes to the clubhouse on the south side of the rifle ranges.

I've locked it so that only senior editors can eff with it.
If you add some images, let me know so I can approve them (though my editing rights in the area will be expiring in 2 months).

OK, I just got a ticket for being on a posted road.

LASD wrote it up as a non-trafic violation. Says it's a no point ticket; kind of like a fix it ticket.

Do I need to call SBSD and inform them of the ticket? I'm still in the 90-120+ day waiting period.

          Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

              Crazy -
No, don't take holsters. They are only interested in seeing that you know how to operate and shoot each weapon safely. Keep fingers off triggers.

For each weapon, shoot 5 rounds, drop magazine and insert new magazine, shoot 5 more rounds. That's it. I think the distance was 5 to 7 yards. Have fun, good luck and welcome to the club.

                  Ditto.
Holster work is later should you take the NRA Defensive Handgun class, or some other training.

Procedure on the range is everything is locked open, downrange, mags out.
                  Officer inspects the guns.
When you walk out to the target, you will carry your gun barrel-down, grip outward, loaded magazines in the other hand.
RO will instruct "Load and make ready" at which point mags are inserted, chambered, and you prepare to shoot on command.

Any issues with anyone having aftermarket triggers?

I had my class at Apple Valley, Devore is likely similar.

They are looking basically for "broken" guns, but even at that, one guy had a Taurus 92 that was acting flaky and was allowed to shoot.
One comment was made about a trigger that felt "a little light" and the owner responded that it was 3.5.

The nitty gritty is covered more in the classroom portion.
They encourage reliability and accuracy modifications such as night sights, and "Service/Carry" type trigger/spring work.

The issue is what is going to be defensible in court (primarily civil) should you be involved in a "good" shoot.
When you cross into "competition" level upgrades is where a civil attorney can call into question your motives.

Likewise, all work performed SHOULD be performed by a competent gunsmith, and not "bubba with a dremel"

Will you be rejected at Devore for a 3.5lb trigger? I can't say. They don't go out there with a pull gauge and check... the inspector goes by feel and visual inspection.

The S&W 327 TRR8 I just picked up seems to be fantastic but I've not shot it yet. The trigger is excellent.
