The process always starts online. You submit your training and paperwork. You'll be notified when to go in to pick it up in person.

Just completed my first renewal. I waited until the last day before I expired. Approved in 25 hours. I'm happy.

I completed my livescan and I am completing my training next week. I was planning on uploading all the documents at the same time. Is that the correct way??? The email did not specify.

Timthetwin, How I read it and did it is a different PDF for each item and uploaded at the same time before you submit the form. I had a PDF for my CDL, mortgage, and SMUD bill. Three uploads. Once I had those PDF's ready, fully filling out the form, uploading the docs, and inputting my payment info took about ten minutes. Pretty simple. Good Luck!

I am already past that point. I am at the wondering if they want all the docs for live Scan and training at once. Thanks!!

Folks, I've been advised that SSD has issued the standardized qualification course of fire to instructors for when the new laws are in effect. SSD will require that instructors follow the BSIS standardized course of fire. IMO, the PC 832 qual should have been the selected course of fire, but not my call.

It is to my understanding that it will be 100-rnds total where 50 are used for the practice and 50 for qual. Contact your local instructor for details and confirmation. Good luck folks.

Any mention about having a revolver with a 5-round capacity?

I passed the sub committee last week and got the email prompting me to print, complete the training, and submit 2 additional proof of residency’s.

I started looking at training location and chose this one.

All Counties in Northern California require 16 hours of instruction for CCW Initial applicants. Please visit your Counties website, or reach out to us, for County specific information on the CCW application process. Sacramento County requires you to complete the application process first and receive approval prior to taking the course. Do not sign up for the course until you have received approval from Sacramento County. *THIS COURSE IS FOR SACRAMENTO COUNTY RESIDENTS ONLY* There is a non-refundable fee of $15. If you cannot make the course, please call or email to reschedule prior to the course. If you do not show up and request a refund after the course, we will retain the $15.

It didn’t dawn on me until after I paid for the course, to come here and I saw that one guy offering the 16 hour in one day which I totally would’ve done. In the interim though, plus the new regulations, I’m kind of freaked out. Does anybody have any experience with the one I posted? At least all three of the instructors carry a BSIS certification.

I just want to make sure that after all this time and money, I take something that will be accepted by SSD; both in light of the new regulations and specifically because I need both documents (class and gun cert correct?)
