you get 6 months from your live scan approval to do your final issuance date.

Dear CCW Applicant, Your criminal history has been cleared by the Department of Justice and the FBI for issuance of a concealed weapons permit. Please visit our website at www.sacsheriff.com to schedule an appointment to sign your final papers. You will be required to provide copies of recent range qualification with all weapons to be listed on your permit that includes certification from the Instructor who qualified you with your handguns and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department’s Qualification Form. Please proofread all documents to ensure the information is correct, particularly the serial numbers of the guns you wish to include. You must also provide certification (within the past 2 years) of either a 64-hour handgun training class (PC 832), or a 16-hour training course - to include passing a written and firearms proficiency test (enacted into law as of 01/01/99). Two (2) pieces of proof of residency dated within the last 60 days must also be provided. WE DO NOT accept overdue bills! Acceptable proof must be a monthly bill such as a utility bill, cell phone bill, bank statement, credit card statement, etc. We do not accept documents from DMV as proof of residency but we must ensure your home address is current with the California DMV. You cannot update your home address simply by registering a vehicle or updating your vehicle registration. It can take over 72 hours for DMV to complete the update and for their database to reflect the changes. An $80.00 fee for all new applicants will be charged upon issuance of the permit. Have with you a money order or cashier’s check made payable to Sacramento County for this fee. Failure to complete the process listed above within 6 months from the date of this letter will result in your file being pended and you will be required to start the application process over. Please telephone the number listed below if you have any questions. Very truly yours, SCOTT R. JONES, SHERIFF

Since the applicant has no control over the duration of the processing of the Livescan, might the instructions, perhaps, refer to getting the Livescan submitted, and have nothing to do with the receipt of the results by the SSD?

    Best.

I got my cancelled final issue appointment rescheduled for late July. So down to (hopefully) my last period of just waiting.

Whew....maybe the lady said months but meant weeks. She was a sweetheart but pretty far along in a maternal sort of way. Possibly she had other things on her mind. I have had nothing but positive interactions with the CCW staff, am very impressed!
