I can’t imagine how “nonchalant” you are during the holidays.

Well, that, and the continuous worry that you’re printing. And, the 24/7 head-on-a-swivel threat detections. And, the effort to identify others who are carrying. And, you have to remember the code words which identify you to LEOs as a licensed carrier.

    Still much to do.

This will be a very slow ten days, but the “long pole” in the tent is now your training/certification.

Line up your training agency and start looking at class dates...they fill fast.

The IA can’t direct you to training until the GC has been approved. However, if you feel good about the situation, you can take the training before approval. When you’re approved, you just upload the certs and you’re done. If you’re not approved, you’ve gotten some training. The in-between position is to schedule the trading as close to after your potential approval date and, if denied, cancel enrollment.

Anyway, nonchalantly move forward and good luck.

Completed my interview today. When I spoke with the interviewer she was very nice. Very relaxed setting. Towards the end of it she said “okay well the committee meets twice a month, on Thursdays, the next time being on the 18th. I can’t say you will for sure be approved, but I will say there’s no reason you wouldn’t be.... you’ll get a series of emails on the 18th about your next steps. And if you have everything in order, you will get your ccw within a couple weeks!”

I’m pretty excited actually which is funny because I’ve been pretty nonchalant about the whole thing- it’s just another piece of your daily attire and form of protection, right? Either way, super excited!

It's very low key and the gentleman who interviewed me couldn't have been more cordial. It was zero stress and like DVRJon suggested, an enjoyable experience.
    Good to know, thank you!

Anyone have any advice to offer beyond the general consensus?

Be on-time, polite, short/sweet answers and nothing much is needed beyond 'for personal protection' ?

    Thanks

I was under the impression it was only rifle caliber pistols that are a no-go.
