None of their offices have opened yet, as of a few days ago. I just did my live scan at a local place in Palm Desert for $25

              Modification process and timeline

I just received word from the CCW unit that my modification to add a weapon has been approved.

I submitted the mod request on 3/12/2020. Not bad in terms of turnaround time as that was right when Covid measures were really gaining momentum.

All I uploaded was my qualification sheet for the new weapon and an updated driver's license as the original had just expired.

The RSO has really proven to be friendly in this process thanks to our new Sheriff, Chad Bianco, and it is much appreciated.

Did you already have your CCW? Or did you modify your firearms BEFORE being issues your CCW?

Can you tell me what exactly you had to do to get more firearms added? I know you need to qualify again of course, but how do you go upon informing RSO you wish to add more?

5/28-I submitted a mod request online, as well paid my $14.
5/30-The investigator contacted me via email to inform me of missing my qual sheet.
Once I qualify with the new firearm, and I upload to their system, I will be notified when my updated permitted is approved.
BCTC is currently not open, you will need to use one of their outside approved vendors/ranges.

I already had the CCW. I bought a new weapon and after qualifying with it, I did the modification to add it to my list of firearms to be used with the permit. you just go to the riverside county ccw application page and instead of starting a new permit, you do a modification.

Seems pretty straightforward... The lady who did my live scan here in Palm Desert told me that adding extra firearms will delay your CCW application process and recommended I was til I receive my permit before I do it

I think what took mine this long was the Covid thing. the mod took longer than the additional permit.

Nothing for me. But it's only been 10 days since doing my live scan anyways

                              3/27/20 - Application
4/14/20 - Class at Second Amendment in PD
                              5/20/20 - Phone interview (8 minutes)
                              5/20/20 - Live scan submitted

I did the livescan for my AZ CCW on 5/20 and mailed the application that day. Just received my permit in the mail this afternoon lol. I wish it was this easy here in CA

Is there any recent information or advice regarding what constitutes "good cause" for Riverside CCW applications? And are letters for good character still required, and if not are they still accepted and recommend.
