Who told you that?! They have been increasing the frequency of ccw quals at BCTC. They are making $100 off of each student in those classes. The last new ccw class I saw had about 30-40 people in it. That's $3,000-$4,000 a class. I can't imagine them shutting that down.

Question for those who have been to the BCTC ccw class.

Does the holster need to have a retention strap? I’ve heard some people mention that it is needed, but the paperwork just says well fitting holster.

The RCSD website says “All holsters will be inspected to ensure that they are safe and comply with department guidelines. Holsters MUST have a thumb snap of either metal, Velcro, or other acceptable method of retaining the weapon in the holster.”

I have IWB Milt Sparks VM-2 leather holsters for each weapon, no retention strap. Is that an acceptable retention method? Just want to be sure.

No. Their main concern is that the holster stays open (ie; kydex or reinforced leather) to facilitate reholstering.

Will having a driving lisence with driving restrictions due to DUI affect the possibility of getting a ccw? Passing a background check to purchase a firearm is no problem. Wondering if anyone has knowledge that applying for ccw in riverside would be any different.
