    Nope.

You can always apply and amend later after the New Ownership submission is processed. To add them now, I don?t think it?d be possible.

Problem is both handguns I?ll be using for CCW were acquired outside of CA. So I have no gun I can register for the permit now. From what I can tell CA DOJ is taking forever to process the new ownership forms.

It took them 10 months to process mine. I reached out a few times and they kept telling me to be patient and to check in later.

You?d be quicker to purchase a handgun whether it be new, consignment, or PPT just for the sake of beginning the application process, then amend later when ownership forms are done processing.

I am right there with you. Applied for renewal on 8/30. I emailed them a week ago asking about my status. They just told me it's been received and they will contact me if any additional info is needed. Mine expires in mid-December.
It's the end of the year. They must be slammed.

I believe 9Cal_OC is suggesting you file the app without naming guns. Get in the queue; it will take months to get to your app. You usually do not need to identify specific guns just to get to an interview and then progress to LiveScan. When your guns are recorded you can add them.

Unfortunately per the CCW unit you can't do that. They said it has to be showing in the AFS system prior to submitting the application. Would doing a PPT to my wife put it in the AFS system? They allow you to list guns owned by a spouse on the permit. I know intrafamilial transfers can be done just through a form, but if I do the PPT I wonder if that would do it.

That would be ideal and faster.

Unfortunately I believe there?s a provision in SB2 that requires guns to be registered to the person issued the permit IIRC

Forgot about that. Well maybe I do need a new CCW gun.

Have your wife PPT to you the guns she transported into CA.
