I sent my deputy an email last week just to verify she received my email from back in February after my interview with the requested picture and also asked roughly how long to hear back at this point since live scan was cleared. I have not heard anything back from her. I figured I may try calling in another 2 weeks or so. Just because seeing how everything else is being pushed back on time.

we pretty much have the same timeline just 1 or 2 days off from each other. I hope we get a positive response soon.

Trying to get an idea on how long the Firearms part of the Live Scan is taking to complete for everyone else. Submitted mine in on 2/17 (see timeline below) and its still pending. I was first told about 8 weeks, then I heard 10-12 weeks, does that sound correct?

We have the same interview and livescan timeline. My livescan was completed 4/20 and I am waiting on my proceed with training email currently.

Final Timeline Update: I picked up my permit yesterday. Very quick and easy process. I was there for like 5 minutes. That's 3 months from my interview call to issuance with about 8 weeks of that time waiting for firearms to clear on the Live Scan. Hopefully they will continue to streamline the process.

I was verbally told at my interview to do it, along with a paper she gave me to get it done.

That's a good sign then, I don't think you should worry about anything. They are super backed up. The pick up process is super simple and straight to the point on the other hand.

While I don't need it anymore, they called to day for my Interview. I am guessing they didn't read the email i was no longer interested. Just think, it took 10 1/2 months just for a call to interview with a June date. Those that applied after me you are probably looking at over a year start to finish. Hopefully they can speed things up, SCOTUS rules in our favor, and the Sheriff gets reelected. That's a lot to ask for.

I'm exactly 1 week behind you from the interview day and live scan. My interview was Feb 9th and live scan started the same day. Firearms cleared april 7th. I have yet to get an email for training.

It's gotta be getting close by now. Did you have an employment-related GC?

Glad to help...apply for those permits ASAP... especially if you like going to Las Vegas...Nevada does NOT reconize the California permit... BUT...they do reconize Arizona...Utah and Florida..those extra permits come in handy...if you're taking a road trip..

Wait you only put 1 gun on the permit? Hopefully nothing happens to that gun. It’s gonna be pretty much impossible to add another gun until it’s time to renew the permit.

I just finished my CCW training with Josh from VIP CCW Services and highly recommend him for those looking for a training source. It’s a Hybrid Zoom and in person course that you can break over multiple days rather than one eight hour block and Josh was really flexible about finding me a range qualification slot that fit my schedule. Given his law enforcement background, I also felt like I was getting some useful insight by taking the course rather than just checking off the training requirement.
