Tomorrow is 9 weeks since my Firearms cleared. Just over 12 weeks since my interview and Live Scan was SUBMITTED.

Seems like alot of us have the same delays out of Chatsworth. Has anyone in the thread been approved lately out of Chatsworth?

I interviewed in Chatsworth as well and I am still waiting... also curious to know if there has been anyone approved lately out of Chatsworth.

-Firearms complete 9/10. Emailed Deputy training certs and screen shot of LS status (all complete)
-Received call from different Deputy 11/15 requesting letter from employer confirming what I do for work or performance reviews. I chose to send annual performance reviews for the past 3 years and supplemented with how it ties to my GC. I asked about my "green" GC and she explicitly said they are not issuing based on that. She told me I should be receiving an email to proceed to training soon. I noted that my interviewing Deputy advised me to proceed with LS and training. She said he should not have done that. I was like oh great. She seemed annoyed but didn't press the issue.

12/6 received call from a 3rd Deputy for pickup on 12/8!

Light yellow, I'm a journalist working in Chinese media in the LA area. I carry some professional cameras, video cameras, and recording devices when I go out for news. I'm also a sales manager at the Chinese radio station. I took checks, cash from my client. However, I'm not a business owner. And the camera or cash doesn't belong to me. I listed the reason as work-related but light yellow.

He slightly hesitantly replied: "All I am asking for is an individualized reason why you, in particular, can be trusted to be armed in public. That's what it requires. Saying I live in LA and I am scared, it's not enough. Give me a little more than that. Put it in writing and we'll entertain it."

A friend of mine who I helped apply in April just picked up today in Monterey Park. About 7 months from submittal to pick-up for current reference.

That’s a big answer, but unfortunately we know that isn’t necessarily the case given the denials predicated on insufficient GC when said GC is light green

I think you are misreading what AV said. He is asking for a reason why you in particular should be trusted to be armed. That has more to do with good moral character than good cause. That perhaps explains why some light green good cause has been approved. They were probably combined with a very good moral character statement. So if your good cause is not yellow or above, you need that extra push of good moral character.

Yes I know you’re being denied based on good cause but they have to say good cause and not good moral character since you have a clean background. They don’t want to give you reason for appeal.

I think you're right Immortal. If you have Green GC, you better come across as super super responsible. Its a higher bar to cross. The bar for business owner's is lower because they assume you are already pretty responsible. Right or wrong, it seems like a fair assumption.
