I had gave up hope on my CCW for a while but seems some good news (I hope) finally.

CCW Timeline (Light Red - Small Business Ownership):
Application Mailed: 2021-04-22
Application Delivered: 2021-04-23
Money Order Cashed: 2021-05-19
Interview: 2021-08-06
Called by Investigator to provide additional GC Detail and Document: 2021-11-09
Email Reply from CCW Unit for training docs: 2021-12-06
Training Docs Received Confirmed and told I will be contacted in approx. 4 weeks when my file has been approved: 2021-12-07

Livescan:
Process Started: 2021-06-21
CA Completed: 2021-06-22
FBI Completed: 2021-06-22
Firearms Completed: 2021-06-23


It's worth noting that they told me they were waiting for my training docs after I sent a follow up email to confirm they received my additional GC proof about 3 weeks after emailing that. So I'm assuming I was on the list to eventually send me the proceed to training email.

Been an extremely lengthy process, but seems like I'm on the right track.

Please confirm my understanding on applying CCW in the City of LA.

1. Since I live in right middle of Los Angeles, I should be applying it to LAPD not LASD.

2. After and when I get rejected from LAPD, I can not reapply it with LASD.

A quick and simple answer would be much appreciated.

Will be out of the country (and in remote areas with limited cell reception - ha) for holiday for a few weeks soon. The laws of the universe tells me this is exactly when I will get and miss the call to discuss GC.

The requirement to apply to LAPD first was dropped many months ago. Now you apply directly to LASD.

The timeline slipped from a few months Start-To-Finish for those in February to 8 months and counting for some of us in April... June could be a year or more all in at the rate they are going.
