I received the email to proceed with training today, and good timing, because I just completed the training this past weekend with Ron at Medic Up Consulting. So it was 6 weeks from my interview to get the green light for training.
I can't recommend him enough - he specializes in teaching Stop the Bleed skills which are more likely to be needed to save a life than a gun, so you get both CCW training plus that training and leave with a Bleed Control kit! Here's some pics from the class.
Since he's a LASD deputy, he also gives you additional insight into the CCW process, guides you how to write your good cause and how to interact with officers when stopped, etc.L.A. County CCW Trainer

Has anyone other than Lockdown taken a month or more for Livescan to clear? I'm at about 3 weeks right now. Waiting patiently, just wondering

The more recent ones seem to be about 2 weeks from what I've seen in the thread so far. Mine was 18 days but I also started it the Thursday before the 4th of July weekend lol. Who knows how long the relay takes because they either get an electronic copy or a hard copy. My deputy said they wait until they get everything from DOJ but didn't specify in what method.App Sent 4/15

Ya I was shocked how fast mine was, 4 days, but then the time seemed to lengthen again.
It seems like they went and put in extra personnel to clear the huge backlog as people had been waiting like a month for them, but then they reverted back to normal and the processing time has been gradually lengthening again.
Not that it matters that mine was done fast though, so people shouldn't feel too bad if theirs is taking longer. I'm still waiting for any further updates from LASD 7 weeks later. Maybe today is the day! *sobs*Last edited by meanspartan; 08-09-2021, 12:27 PM.sigpicComment
