That’s a good place to start for most people.

For simplicity’s sake we combine both Daily Routine risks and virtual Shall Issue (where mere “self defense” or “personal protection” are sufficient Good Cause) together under Dark Green on the map. AV might not.

IOW if you only have Daily Routine risks you might want to risk $30 and see if you get approved. Be sure to read about Daily Routine examples where I explain the colors of the CA CCW GC map in my CCW Application Advice thread pinned at the top of the forum.

Best way to find your GC is to PM 9CAL. He'll respond back with a fully written GC you can turn in to LASD.

LASD isn't asking for any letter from work. They understand the sensitivity of a CCW permit.

They ask for you to prove you're in good standing.

I provided three years of W2s, three recent pay stubs, and a email from my boss addressed to me stating "Lockdown is gainfully employed at Bleaching ACME. He has been with us since 2012 bleaching *******s."

Again, didn't state that I was looking for a CCW permit. I had to do the same when looking for a home loan.

Great. I could easily do that. And all the info you are saying you provided was first provided at your interview and not sent in with the application, correct? Should anything be sent with the application other than the app itself and the check?

People have done it in different ways. I provided all of the detailed backup to my good cause statement with my application that was mailed in.

When the interview was scheduled, I received an email asking me to bring COPIES of:

passport or birth certificate
residency documents
D.L., etc.


I elected to send all of my good cause backup with the application and the deputy seemed to appreciate it.

Wife finished her interview. She absolutely killed it. Should be issued in 2-3 weeks. She got fast tracked because E.Daniel called and got his application put on the bottom.

I was actually asked to provide a letter from my boss explaining what I do at my job
