Expert Firearms Training is the best. You get what you pay for and get more range time than other CCW training places. Talk to Roy, he is awesome!

What should I do to correct this? Dooligan what have you done so far, and did it help in your progress? I have yet to contact the Sheriff's office. Who do I talk to? I am a complete neophyte at this stuff. I don't even like to go the DMV if I can help it.

I'm 67 and have health issues hence the need for a CCW and hope, with all of the incessant delays, I don't croak before I can get one.

Shoot, sorry, I thought I responded to this.

I was instructed by the CCCSO to take the problem up with the Livescan provider (of course. Clearly it was the CCCSO mistake, but yeah. Shift blame. Anyhow I digress...)

I called my Livescan provider and met back with them, showing them the discrepancy in paperwork. They were nice enough to re-do mine free of charge (YMMV). The also provided me the following website to be able to check my progress (as it is public information).

After my second Livescan, my "status" showed complete in a week. Then (miraculously) CCCSO reached out for clarification on my water bill, and I confirmed they had everything they need.

Unfortunately it was "crickets" on my question about my place in line. No surprises there.

Thanks for the reply, Dooligan. I made copies of everything and also kept all original paperwork for my application. I'll go to the place that did my live scan and show them the original app and the new version and see what they say (fingers crossed)

        wish me luck, Joe

Surely people have been successful with the old "incorrect" app? This has been going on for a long time to just be noticed now as a terminal issue?

It's not a bug, it's a feature of their CCW program.

Again... has anyone successfully gotten their CCW using the old incorrect form?

Do you mean the CA DOJ application with a section where you were supposed to detail the reason for applicant desiring a CCW license? I did.

No.... someone posted that the livescan form the Sheriff website provided up until recently was wrong... had wrong info on it.

My question is has anyone gotten a CCW using that incorrect form?

Here's a timeline with the CCCSO:
                    11/19/22: Application mailed certified
                    12/11/22: Live Scan #1 (Postal Annex #158)
2/11/23: Live Scan #2 (A1 Photo Video Lab)
                    2/11/23: CA completed
                    2/11/23: FBI completed
                    2/17/23: Firearms completed
9/5/23: Learned I needed an online application
                    9/19/23: Submitted online application
12/11/23: Notified by mail my application was approved
                    12/12/23: Attended training with Paladin
                    12/13/23: Training certificate submitted
                    12/13/23: Firearm qualification scheduled

The reason for two Live Scans is that the first had a defective machine and didn't notify me until I returned 2 months later. Yep, an extra 2 months added thanks to the Postal Annex on Ygnacio in Walnut Creek. Also, I'm taking the firearm qualification in January.

JDL-When is your firearm qual scheduled? You're coming down to the wire. Hope it's before the end of the year and they can approve you before then too. Because after that, you'll be subject to the new rules (even though it's against the law!!!) in CoCoCo. Meaning 16 hour training and possible psych eval. Meaning more costs.

Yes, I was concerned with the timing too but unfortunately, I couldn't avoid it. My qual is scheduled for the second week of January which was the earliest available time slot. The deputy that scheduled my time assured me that because I'd been approved and taken my training class in 2023, the rules of 2023 will apply to me. Meaning, only an 8 hour class is required. I hope that is all true. I'll find out for sure in a few weeks.

Anyone know how to add a 3rd gun to ccw? If it’s even possible? I want to get a Sig 365 and carry it over my Shield 9 1.0.

Check with your issuing agency. If you went thru CoCoCo, they will probably put you thru the wringer to do so. If you went thru Concord, then it will be an easier path.

Either way, I do believe you will have to qualify with it.

                                Per the Sherrif's webpage:

"The Office of the Sheriff allows a CCW license holder to list two weapons on the permit."

It is my understanding that at one time three firearms were allowed for renewals but this may be a Sherrif specific thing and is not the case now.

So, you can pay to set up an appointment to requalify with the Sig and drop a current CCW listing or wait for your renewal requalification.
