None other than if your GC is only SD, ask them to hold it pending the outcome in Peruta.

When is a decision on the possible intervention by the AG's office expected? The last update on uscourts.gov is Gore's letter in support of it dated May 15, 2014.

No one can answer that. Could be within the next week, could be months away. We just have to wait it out and hope for the best.

            Update for the group:
I had my CCW interview in Oakland this afternoon. It lasted about 20 minutes. The deputy was very professional and reviewed my Alameda County and DOJ applications. He asked for a copy of my drivers license, proof of ownership of the handguns I wanted to use, and asked questions about my good cause.

He said the next step was they were going to call the PD's of my last two addresses and then if that checks out, prepare a memo for the Sheriff to review. He has the final say

Thank you for letting us know. What did you bring with you? What were you asked to bring with you?

Let us know how it goes! Good luck!

I took copies of my County and DOJ applications with me to review along with the deputy.

I was asked to provide the following additional information:
                - Drivers license
                - Any firearms training certificates
                - proof of listed firearms ownership (DROS or receipts)
                - List of firearms currently in the household
                - bank statement

The last two items are kind of intrusive- the list of guns is part of a DOJ database. No sense of lying there. The bank statements are related to my good cause.

The interviewer was Deputy Sheriff Lonnell Goodall

Awesome. Thanks. I don't think I have a copy of the DROS. Time for me to dig up the receipts.

They asked for me to bring in proof (bank statements or deposit slips) but I can't as they are confidential to my company/employer/GC. We shall see.

Not sure of how any of the last 4 are legal to ask for. AlaCo already asks for excessive paperwork. No sense in lying but I'm not sure about compiling a list for law enforcement of exactly what I have. Seems like some 4th, 5th, and 9th Amendment issues just to potentially uphold your 2nd Am rights.

Can anyone confirm if this is legal?

List of firearms, bank statement. Not their business. Proof of ownership, they should look it up.

so basically the "bank statement " was asked based on your GC and most likely not a general requirement for other applicants?
nice to know at least they are calling people for interview.

Yes, bank statement was only part of my GC. Emailed the deputy yesterday and he will be completing my application next week when he gets back from vacation. Now the Sheriff reviews and signs off if I can proceed onward.

Any word on how the sheriff's department is dealing with not submitting the ALCO form or otherwise deviating from the form (non-ALCO references or having more than one firearm)?

I'm considering sending an application in shortly with "self-defense" as the GC. I've gathered all the info and mostly filled out the forms. Just hesitating on "pulling the trigger" so-to-speak.
