CRPA is sending their pre-litigation letter to several sheriff departments (including AlaCo) this coming Friday.

Good start I had to go to CPRA website to find out the guidance they recommended.

CRPA mentions the photos of storage are meaningless and Permitium is already a streamlined process delaying to find new software is illegal Under PC 26175.

They even let them know Excessive application times and fees are shameful and unconstitutional from what i read in VII of the letter.

They should issue pretty fast now or the lawsuits will pile up after they violate every applicant 90 day penal code.

i just sent a donation to crpa…. Disappointing but not surprising that litigation is needed, given that we live in CA

If they qualify, people can apply for a fee waiver and not have to the $435 fee to file a petition for a writ. If you are on Medi-Cal or get CalFresh food stamps, you automatically qualify for a fee waiver. See,

It would be great if a lawyer could provide a template we could use when writing our Writ of Mandate. Since today is the deadline for my application, I emailed the Sheriff. He skipped town, I'm sus.

Judea is not the Sherriff, interesting that her emails go out that way, unless your email program truncated it.

Fingers crossed that the pre litigation letter that the CRPA sent them actually makes something change, hell even San Francisco is issuing based on what I read in the SF thread.

Years ago, the governor of Kentucky lost his re-election campaign. In the final weeks before he had to leave office, he started issuing hundreds of pardons left and right to criminals. It got so bad that both parties in the legislature were trying to figure out how to kick him out of office early.

Sheriff Ahern is missing out on a great opportunity to go out with a bang.
