That makes sense. I guess it depends on how good your documentation is and how everything checks out. I also believe in no news is good news as well. Hopefully during my 90 day wait there will be nothing additional needed.Just hang in there. You should hear something very soon. I received my approval 3 days before my 90days .
I never received any contact from any deputy during my process. I believe they only reach out to you if they need more documentation or questions about your background.
Remember, no news is good news most of the time.Leave a comment:

Thank you for the congrats! Yes, the 90 day waiting period is the most stressful part.
To elaborate on the emails I got from the deputy, he just asked for updated paystubs and residence documentation and that was it.
I was also expecting deputies at my door for residence verification but no one ever came.
I heard some calgunners had a deputy show up to verify residence. Maybe it depends on how good your proof of residence documents are but not really sure how they decide that.

That sounds good. So it was simple things the deputy asked for. I have also heard that sometimes a deputy will stop by your residence to verify that you really reside there. It seems to be hit and miss with the in person residency check from what i hear.
Glad to hear everything worked out for you. Carry safe.Leave a comment:

Congrats on obtaining your CCW permit. It is always good to hear that law abiding citizens are obtaining their permits in San Diego County. My appointment is this Friday the 16th. The most stressful part will be waiting that 90 days after the appointment. I guess I should be able to wait it out since I waited over 7 months for my appointment. I applied on 7/27/2020.
I did not know that applicants had anymore contact with a deputy during your time your background check is being done. I was under the impression that everything is being conducted by FBI and DOJ. Some of friends said that they had no contact with anyone during the 90 day wait.
Thanks for sharing your experience and be safe.

Just hang in there. You should hear something very soon. I received my approval 3 days before my 90days .This is very interesting. I applied in May of 2020 and my initial appointment was for April of 2021 and received a call to reschedule my appointment for the 22nd of January 2021. I'm on day 81 of the 90 days and actually need the CCW for my work because of the "greater" risk I am placed in. I have never heard from a deputy about any of my application. At my appointment the women who went over my application said I was the most prepared and should have no issues getting approved. Congrats on getting your CCW, I'm going to have to give them a call because it makes absolutely no sense to me how you applied after me and got excellent service and I'm still out here waiting. I've literally had more threats made against my life since applying lol. I will say I do know that SDSO contacted my work to confirm that I was currently employed. Stay safe!

Initial appointment was scheduled for 2/22/21 but was moved up to 1/27/21. All I did was sign a bunch of paperwork and do fingerprints/photos at initial appointment. Clerk was awesome, can't remember her name. Deputy sent me some emails on 3/15/21 requiring some more info. Deputy was very professional as well. Finally got approval letter 4/13/21. Thank you SDSO!
The hardest part in my opinion is the amount of time the process takes but I think its well worth it! Hang in there everyone! Don't give up!

No. They do not provide you with any if that information.
They will tell you to expect to hear from them in about 90 days . If the BI has any additional questions or needs documentation they will reach out to you.Leave a comment:

I did get another email asking me to provide an updated good cause statement focusing on my outdoor activities. They asked for photos and other documentation to support that lifestyle. I also had another appointment date change that is two days later than my scheduled appointment. I should have the first appointment completed for the end of April.
I received an email from a clerk at the sheriffs department last Saturday informing me that I needed to update a second monthly bill to prove residency, which I did, but no other documents for good cause.
My appointment is scheduled for April 16th.Leave a comment:
