Didn't get a visit, but same home address for almost 20 years.

Hmm...Not sure the talk to neighbors was about firearms.

In fact, one of my neighbors was asking me why an investigator talked to him whether he knows me and I physically live at my address.
I told the neighbor that I was interested in career in law enforcement (Sheriff Department).
Until this day, the neighbor kept asking when I will attend police academy. LOL..

When I submitted my application they said they would contact my employer to verify employment (my GC had nothing to do with employment). I expressed concern over this since I work with a lot of snowflakes. Her response was that all they say is that they are from the licensing division - nothing more, nothing less. The investigator called me for some paperwork that they misplaced and told me he wasn't going to bother with the employment check. To my knowledge, nobody came by the house.

I wonder if that may have something to do with it. We've been here 27 years.

For those that applied in late 2019 and early 2020, How long did it take for a processor to be assigned to your app?

I called for my app't late September. My original app't was 4/2 but was postponed for the 'rona. My updated app't was 6/1. My processor was assigned after that. I was approved around 7/6. I made the mistake of calling for an issue app't until after my class, so my earliest issue date was 8/20. Somewhere around 11 months from start to finish. It went pretty quickly after my initial appointment. They told me they have 90 days from appointment to approval or denial, but it rarely takes that long.

I wish today's liberals could understand: You cannot be generous by giving away other peoples' money and you cannot demonstrate your virtue by your willingness to give up other peoples' rights.

So I already took the renewal class and qualified with 3 guns and submitted on permitium early. They didn’t contact me yet for appointment. How would I add more guns at this point? I can still upload documents, not sure I can go back and edit the list of guns though now that it’s submitted. Or maybe I can just bring in the qualification document at the appointment when I get one? Wouldnt mind adding a couple full size.

Qualify with the additional guns. Your instructor may re-do your original form to include all the guns on one form, or may give you a supplementary form with just the additions guns. Upload that to Permitium asap with a cover letter explaining what you are doing. Don't blindside them by just showing up at your appointment requesting new guns, because they need lead time to verify that the new ones are registered to you.

No, it's not just you, this was spot on ... for both initial and renewal I thought the handing of the application back to me for such trivial items was a colossal waste of time. Well said.

I had to make a couple of corrections on my application at my initial interview, but I was still in and out in about 30 minutes and that was we had to wait for the fingerprint machine. I don't remember who did my interview (basically just turning in the paperwork and making sure it was correct; along with the picture and prints), but she was very efficient and friendly. my understanding is the deputies run the background check and the ladies "behind the glass do the approving."

Jessica was fantastic! I waited longer (my app't was the 1st after lunch) than it took to pick up the permit. Jessica volunteered the no-limit firearm information to me when I asked if they laminate the paper permit. Rabbit trail... since I have to carry the license when I'm carrying; which should be all the time with few exceptions; hoe long do they think that piece of paper will last in my wallet?... She said I could laminate it if I want, but they wouldn't be able to add the additional firearms. I still don't know if I will or not; it depends on how much trouble it will be to add my Firestorm.

Looks like my CCW will expire

My CCW expires this Wednesday. I applied for the renewal mid-July, and uploaded all documentation besides the requalification cert, at that time. I did the requalification 29 days before expiration, and uploaded that doc on the same day. And, as of 2 minutes ago, Permitium still says my application will be assigned to a processor "shortly." So, on Thursday, if I leave the house, it will be without a handgun.

And, this makes me much sadder than I thought I would be. It has surprised me how much my level of fear has gone down being out and about. And, I am pretty sure the fear of those bad things happening again will keep me inside a lot more.

I am thinking now that I need more "edged weapons" training, since knives are a concealed weapon that one does not yet need a permit for. But I sure hate the idea of those people being close enough to me that a knife might work. Heck, even mace distances are probably too close...

                              I hate this...
