comes and goes, mostly goes very slow.

shouldn't it be like FAST with new server? Its a mostly just text site with at most mild volume.

not my area of expertise but shouldn't it be "fast" even with a bargain priced 10yr old server?

Does the server got a virus or maybe Gun Grabbing Govt DOS attacks going on?

I've noticed a couple other pro-American non-woke right wing sites suddenly VERY slow and timing out, and its not a big increase in traffic.

Now that all Big Tech has been outed for political meddling, is it too much to suspect that similar "hidden hand" stuff is being done to sites were they can't control content but maybe "WWW backbone" providers are harshly throttling speeds? Its what I'd be doing if I was them.

The lack of any explanation is the worst part, as if the site operators do not even understand the situation.

It’s back to instant response. A few minutes ago, it was a 22 second delay

Could be search engines crawling the site? Need to block them.

I've replied a few times in this and the other thread about what the problem is. I have experience with this stuff....the problem is related to the number of users logged in / traffic and the underpowered database (MYSQL) server and probably the web server. That plus the ancient version of vBulletin isn't helping.

It's time for Kestryll to sell the site if he is uninterested in maintaining it. I would be interested in taking it forward and I know what I'm doing...

There have been several reports (including my own) of same sluggish performance in the middle of the night (02:00-03:00)... it's highly doubtful there is high traffic at that time.

You could probably get this place for pennies on the dollar.

There are many vBulletin batch jobs that run throughout the day, depending on how you have them scheduled. For example, the "last posted by..." thing in the forum listings. IF the database size is large, the indexing is poor or unmaintained, then those jobs will adversely affect site response times.

Calguns ran beautifully yesterday, but today, performance has once again plummeted to a nearly broken level.

To maintain the interest of keeping a running log, performance is good this morning.

                              Basically like the stock market...

I haven't paid attention to the timing correlation - but they are both up/down consistently... neither with much current hope of soaring.

Was just about to finally ?petition? for a server upgrade. It?s crazy to have the site down more than half the time I go to use it. Seems like every other hour it?s completely unresponsive or unusably slow
