Two things

This can't have anything to do with the number of users because when this thing barely works I was looking and it says on average roughly 6,000 active users and when it was kicking butt for about 36 hours there were 12 to 13,000 active users. So it's not an overload to the website

Second, if it works so perfectly for a short period of time and then turns into complete crap, how can professionals who earn their living doing this every day of their lives not be able to identify and fix the problem? We keep hearing it's being worked on, but what exactly is being worked on? Has anybody ever bothered to tell us what the real problem is?

Performance has improved today. There seems to be no pattern or predictability whatsoever.

The lack of any announced timeline for resolving the virtually unusable performance issues is worrisome.

It’s been so slow for a while now, I am no longer on Calguns, only check back occasionally to see if it’s been resolve. Hope it gets resolved soon, trying to figure out what to do with the 4hrs a day that I use to spend on this site!

As a barometer of participation, this morning, fall back day, is the first time I can recall, since I joined in 2012, that 24 hour OT thread starts/updates have fallen to one page, below 50 listed, including stickies.

Normal has typically been between 100-120, or two-three pages. I trust advertisers have noticed this site-wide. A lot of traffic comes from the marketplace, particularly traffic from non-members looking, exposing them to ads. The loss of traffic also affects search engine placement.

No problem for me; I run another window/tab/browser while the forum loads. Numbers appear to put readers like me in the minority. Hope it works out.

Something happened yesterday (11/5) that really improved the site for me. First thing I noticed was an error about my session being invalid. Refreshing didn't work, however when I navigated to the top of the forum, the error went away, I was still logged in and since then everything has worked great.

I'm not sure if it's due to the time change or if the admin people made a change, but it's a huge improvement.
