Definitely can be a test of your patience. I’ve gone elsewhere numerous times and will hope it stays working. As others have said there doesn’t seem to be rhyme or reason for the performance issues.

I posted this previously. The reason for the performance problem is an under powered mysql DB server coupled with an archaic version of vBulletin. It's obvious to anyone who has experience with forum sites.

Early this AM, no problem 0300ish; 0500, couldn't get on at all. Now 0600ish and up again.

I've been getting multiple timed out errors. Looks like Cal guns is circling the drain.

Hate to say it but yeah. The server swap was months ago and it ruined it. I?m not trying to be ungrateful, it?s a free great resource and excellent way to organize others but dang, it?s been unusable.

I like the analogy. I never know whether Calguns will load in 2 seconds or 2 minutes until I actually attempt to visit the site.

server setup issues
log on server issues
also, since it bogs down at high traffic time, could be the virus protection software is set to settings that are too aggressive. It doesn't need to do a check of every file.
