Any Shoots / Clubs in Central Valley?

Just wondering if there were any Clubs or upcoming Shoots in my area (Modesto)? I am a novice (used to hit the range 2-3 months, but that was 5-6 years ago) that is getting back into shooting. I am looking for anything but shotgun shoots (unless it's with HD or Tactical Shotguns). Thanks for the info, hope everyone has a Great Christmas and New Years.

I believe there's a club south of you in Turlock.

And there are two clubs just north of you. The Stockton Sportsmen Club if you like sporting clays and pheasant/duck/chukar hunting.

And the Manteca Sportsmen is just south of Manteca. See my signature for the general schedule to the Manteca Sportsmen and venues offered. They have events every month including kids, ladies, pistol, rifle, and cowboy events.

I belong to both the Manteca and Stockton clubs. Shoot me a PM sometime if you'd like to do some shooting at either. If I can, I'll give you the .02 tour.

BTW - Welcome to the forum.

If you want to give tactical handgun shooting (USPSA) a shot (pun intended), Oakdale Sportmans Club has a intro/practice event the first Sunday of every month. A lot of fun and a great way to improve your skills.

Depending upon your interests, Manteca is a good place to go. It is one of the few ranges in the area that are open to the public. If you want to become a member, you don't need to be a friend of a member to be invited to join.
Check back later for a witty comment.

Same with the Oakdale club. I just rolled in there and asked a couple of guys if I could join and in ten minutes I had an application in my hand. They have a website.

+1 on the www.safetyfirstshooting.org. Good group of people and a really great range in Winton - only getting better and better!

IDPA the 3rd sat of every month. Check out the website. They're more than welcoming for new IDPA shooters and its not all race guns & gear, just normal people have loads of fun.

15-18 years ago I used to shoot USPSA with the Stockton and Oakdale clubs, they had some great people there.
