Count me in. My schedule is somewhat flexible and I have a shortbed pickup truck. The last time I was there, the place was a mess and I wondered if building some sort of rake that could be towed is possible because doing it by hand is a huge undertaking.

I am available at the end of Septemeber and through the rest of the year on Saturdays. I try to take as much as I can fit in the back of the Bronco each time I go. It is amazing the amount of electronics that are out there. If they don't keep it clean, the BLM will shut it down. .

Nope i haven't done an appleseed. I actually never heard of it until now that you mentioned it. I will probably go when i get a car. thanks for the info David i really appreciate it! look forward to it

Has anyone been out there lately? What kind of trash is laying around?

I was there back in may. Every time i go, i use a refrigerator box (my cousin works at Lowe's) as a target. When we're done, i re-fold the box enough to fill it, and grab as much junk as i can to take to the dumpster once we get back to the city.

Here's a video i made while out there with my cousins. The stuff on the ground and behind the honeydew is pretty typical of the entire area.


I only shoot at paper, cans, or fruit that local critters will end up eating.

I'd definitely help with the cleanup, but i'm only in socal about twice a year to visit family.

Saturday in October sounds good. Would calguns be willing to rent a dumpster? I rented a pretty large one to clean out my Dad's house after he died, it ended up costing me about $450 with delivery.

I would be willing to drive up from San Diego if we have the clean up when the weather cools off a bit. Are there some decent camping spots out there as I would probably make a 2 or 3 day weekend out of it. Please keep me posted.
