PINK IS FOR NAIL POLISH!!

I never considered regulation to be a topic. Not every household is a responsible gun household, and parents are often in denial of what their children do when not fully supervised. My concern is that pretty guns have the ability to blur lines with potentially dire results.
Judges' robes, funeral hearses, the men in black are all in black for a reason. In society, pink is just not a color of authority, and guns are certainly items of authority. Think not with an adult mind, reflect back to the mind you had as a child.
And yes, plugging the word "pink" into the search function is pretty much fail. Now, if y'all will pardon me, i gotta go put my glasses in the gun safe...Last edited by Off the Roster; 09-20-2013, 11:55 PM.Comment

Everything else being equal, which is not the case, I'd go for any handgun I otherwise wanted, but in pink, if it started on roster, but ended up undervalued. That is, I'd want a pink gun if so many others didn't want it that it ended up cheaper.
Doesn't help with concealment, but that's barely legal in large swaths of the state anyway.Comment

you are a wise shopper, kj.
pick it up cheap....and can probably change the color as well."The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her own pantyhose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound."-- as seen on a t-shirt

Yup...my wife and I agree...Comment

My wife would never be seen with a pink gun. Blue, to match her old Mercedes would be her first choice. But, I just got 2 80% pink lowers for myself. I just like mind F'ing people at the range and a pink gun will be one of my new tools to do that.NRA Certified Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor

I disagree with the whole pink or other color gun is a bad choice because of the children. Growing up, we had toy guns that looked just like real guns so I don't see how this is any different. You are really doing a disservice to yourself and your children if you are relying on the guns color to dissuade them from touching it. Teach your children about proper gun safety no matter what color it is.sigpic10mm collectorComment

Our values system is screwed up period. Guns are tools, not fashion statements. The same guy you talked about OP was probably in the market to make men appear like imbeciles on TV as well. Women have now taken the former man's role, men are unnecessary fools, and we can all accessorize our purses and manbags now. Lets get on with it.Comment

I am honestly tired of women like Chickshooter. A lot of them feel like if it is something that appeals to girls, then it is childish, but if it something that appeals to guys then it is sophisticated,
and that's totally sexist. I really think that is an offensive comment.
I happen to own a pink AR which I love.
And I have 3 girl cousins who are all younger than 13 and they were all asking me if I could take them to shoot it....which would be like their 1st time! So I guess that's a bad thing to you because feminine colors = childish in your world. Well I'm sorry if you feel like the things girls AND women like are childish.
Anyway, which kids are really playing with guns? Where I grew up, it was always the boys. So maybe you should say ban camo, or maybe...MAYBE make all guns pink so those boys won't be playing with them so much of you think they are so dangerous for children to like.
I know it is my responsibility to keep my guns away from children. But you seem to think that is also my responsibility to make guns unappealing to young girls. And I can make my gun all buffed and shiny like chrome rims and that's ok, but pink is stupid?
I happen to know that if a young girl shows up to the shooting range for her very first time with her dad and it is all loud and leering old men, but then she sees a lady who is pretty and shooting a pink rifle, she will feel better...because that girl was me. It's sad because you probably just convinced one male calgunner not to get a pink AR for his daughter or to tell his girlfriend that a pink grip on her revolver would be stupid and that will be less girls shooting and more young girls feeling like outsiders to the gun world.Last edited by 2Cute2Shoot; 09-21-2013, 5:15 PM.Comment

^Mhmm. I'm planning on getting my AR painted purple, my CZ is teal, and who knows, maybe one day I will have a hot pink/black firearm of some kind. Why? Because I can damnit. I like to be different, and I like to pull a fast one on the boys who think "oh wow she has a pink gun, ha! She must have no clue." Uhh nope. And I say this as I'm wearing a hot pink NRA shirt, YEAH!Comment

Chick didn't disrespect anyone's decision.
just a reminder to be a responsible shopper which means something different to each person.
some of the responses tell me more about the poster than they do about anything else.
shop wisely: if that includes buying colors do so. you are the role model you want to be.
if that includes pink and/or any other color no one said you shouldn't.
attacking one another in OT is very common.....not so common in this forum and I for one hate to see it. discussion and stating opinion has been the norm here. seems times are changing.
have a great weekend. rock whatever color you want."The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her own pantyhose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound."-- as seen on a t-shirt

Go do your damage somewhere else.
Hey hey...take it easy. The OP was just sharing her opinion on non-conventionally colored firearms in general - it wasn't a personal attack on you. I had originally written a reply to remind you about the thread you posted on CalGuns about the time you used your femininity to get out of a speeding ticket; but, thought better of it. I feel that it is hypocritical to slam another woman for her "sexist" opinion on femininity when you used yours for what many would consider to be inappropriate purposes.
I absolutely invite you to join us in this discussion; but, I respectfully ask that you tone down the anger. Please share with us why you feel that non-conventionally colored firearms have their place in shooting sports.
