Nice unbiased review on the LC9 from a few members on the Sig Forum.

See whats fits better in your hand. I really like my l9c. It took 2 - 3 sessions at the range to get used to it but the trigger is is like butter after 500 rounds...
The Ruger sr9c is another option.
Another one to look at is the m&p9c. Excellent trigger right out of the box and S&W did a fantastic job with this one.
Regarding ammo...
Caliber: 9mm Luger Plus P
Bullet Wt.: 125gr CORBON Self-Defense JHP
Velocity: 1250fps
Energy: 434ftlbs
Test Barrel Length: 4.0 Inches

I own both. The G26 is thick as a brick to carry, The LC9 has a trigger pull a mile long. I suggest checking out the Kahr CM9.Comment

Not a lady, but I can say my wife who is petite, prefers the Kahr CW9 over the Glock 26. I would look at both an compare.Comment

I have really really small hands, and to boot; I am really really small. I use a 19/26 combo daily, 9 is a tad bit weak sauce, but if you go for something like a 23, it isn't that much more of a jump, just weight is an issue. For me? Since I am so small, its easy to print, I tend to dress down, and have a larger jacket, or lose fit shirt that allows for some leeway in carry.
Honestly 40 is the best in terms of knock down power, however simply saying if someone can't handle the snap, is a whimp? Eh maybe, but I am very very small, and alot of the stuff I have is tailored with my size in mind, from my stamped rifles to handguns lol, personally I'd go with Glock, you may actually be bigger, and stronger than I am, but as someone said above, practice practice practice. Trust me its very important. I've already had live experience on a number of occassions, with pistol saving my butt. I used to carry a 23, but its snap IS noticed by me, the 19 was just far easier for me to use, and I am pretty quick, enough classes and as well training with older siblings, and family, has made me very profic, so practice is key; regardless of what you end up going with. You know what I mean?
Glocks aren't for everyone, but they should be
I carry a glock rather than any other of my large large fire arm collection. Simple, reliable, gets the job done no matter what.

concealed gun for a female
Well put!
I have a Ruger LCP 380, Kahr PM9 and Glock 26 (just to mention a few).
The PM9 is probably the best all around choice for a lady except it has a snappy recoil and only 6+1. I can shoot it relatively accurately.
The LCP just isn't real accurate and the 380 is a bit of a small bullet.
The Glock 26 has a nice easy recoil, 10 round capacity, very accurate, although like you mentioned, is a bit chunkier. With the correct holster and clothes, I like the Glock 26. Carried in a Galco King Tuk I am used to the weight and do not think about it. I am the most comfortable knowing I have maximum firepower and a gun I can shoot very accurately.
If I had to draw my weapon in a life threatining situation, I would be best prepared with my Glock 26Comment

I carry a Taurus P709 slim when I am not wearing bulky sweatshirts.
It's been very reliable and a perfect size to not be obvious if only wearing a fitted t-shirt.
I prefer bigger guns (my other 9 is a Sig 2022) and in fact my 6'1 220 lbs boyfriend also bought one of these p709 slims to carry.WTB: multiautomatic ghost gun with a .30-caliber clip to disperse with 30 bullets within half a second. Must include shoulder thing that goes up.

If you like Glock and you like slim and concealability of the LC9, may I suggest DB9? Or is this off your budget?
Table Rock Arms is in the process of producing through SSE. I am waiting one too.(\__/)

Wierd, my Glock 27 conceals extremely easily even under just a t-shirt.
I've got average-small sized hands and the subcompact Glocks fit them perfectly. All those Ruger single stack pistols feel way too skinny for me to get a firm grip.
OP, in the end it's whatever fits your hand better and shoots better for you. I'd suggest you go and test fire both guns to see which you like."The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure."

I'd go with the Kahr PM 9. Not as box as the Glock and better on recoil than the LC9. Smaller than both and fits perfect in a woman's hand.sigpic
