    LOL!

OHOD, you do know that shellac is the finish used on your Mosin Nagant stocks?

You could find some red garnet shellac do your nails the same color as your Mosin Nagants! It would be awesome...

That looks so nice I'm almost tempted. I keep my nails really short though (most of the time there isn't even any white showing) so it might not look right. I guess I could grow them out a bit and give it a try... Hopefully it would hold up to all the horrible things I do to my hands.

I used shellac on my AKs. Doesn't get prettier than shellac.

OHOD, let us know how long the Shellac Job lasts. My fingernails are little tiny stubs and I probably wouldn't invest unless the Shellac Job was guaranteed for 2 weeks and actually lasted for one (looking good). Good choice on the color.

so far they are holding up really well.

I'm incredibly rough on my nails which is why I don't color them. Naturally, my nails are brittle and flex.
                        We'll see.

i found that the gels and other treatments actually made my nails even thinner and more brittle. but that was years ago. actually my natural nails are pretty strong now.

                              From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Shellac is a resin secreted by the female lac bug, on trees in the forests of India and Thailand. It is processed and sold as dry flakes (pictured at right), which are dissolved in ethyl alcohol to make liquid shellac, which is used as a brush-on colorant, food glaze and wood finish. Shellac functions as a tough all-natural primer, sanding sealant, tannin-blocker, odour-blocker, stain, and high-gloss varnish. Shellac was once used in electrical applications as it possesses good insulation qualities and it seals out moisture. Phonograph (gramophone) records were also made of it during the pre-1950s, 78-rpm recording era.

Shellac is one of the few historically appropriate finishes (including casein paint, spar varnishes, boiled linseed oil and lacquer) for early 20th-century hardwood floors, and wooden wall and ceiling paneling.[citation needed]

From the time it replaced oil and wax finishes in the 19th century, shellac was one of the dominant wood finishes in the western world until it was replaced by nitrocellulose lacquer in the 1920s and 1930s.
