Sent off for my 03 FFL on 11-6-12 and they charged the $30 on 11-9-12. Hopefully I get my license soon because I have an Egyptian Hakim on a three month layaway and want to save about $130 in taxes and transfer fees.

          CFD?

Does 03 FFL require CFD and local license? Just asking so I can help my customers that are interested in obtaining the licese. I have an 07 FFL, and CA required local licensing before they would process my CFD permit. Hope 03 FFL's don't have to go through the same long process.

No, an 03FFL does not need a CFD. They can get a COE, which makes them exempt from the waiting period for C&R firearms.

Mailed my FFL03 application a week or two before Xmas....say around 12/15/12 or so. The week after Xmas I received a request for a disposition from the local court on an minor issue I had 3 years ago. Apparently NCIC doesn't always get the disposition of cases. Took me a few hours the following day to go to the court and get the paperwork for them. Sent it off that day. License arrived today in the mail. (1/7/13) 23 days total. I was amazed to see it this soon.
Now all I have to do is make a bunch of copies and start mailing them off to places like Midway and Brownell's and (of course) others.....
