I'm still trying to parse out all the code. I'm leaning towards the former, but it might be the latter.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

this is the key phrase in the old code, "if the delivery, sale, or transfer is conducted in accordance with the applicable provisions of Section 12020". Does an unconventional pistol that is sold in compliance with the regulations in 12020, by using the AOW exemption to 12020 fit that phrase? If so, It would appear to qualify as a 12071-exempt transfer. As such, the 10-day wait would not apply. I don't see where the DROS must be performed if 12071 doesn't apply to the transfer.

This would be very cutting edge and I would bounce it off of Jason Davis before I would actually do this.

Jason Davis mentioned it in the new lawsuit, I give him all the credit. I never knew that the exemption was there until he mentioned it and started trying to parse the code to see how it worked.

it sure would be cool to be able to mail the customer the Form 4 to have him sign it and return to you so that you can send it ot the NFA branch and then once it comes back apprived, you just call him to pick up his toy. That is how SOTs in many other states get to do it.

I will note that I don't think it will work for VFG'ed AR-pistols, but smoothbore pistols and other cool AOWs should be able to be done this way.

Was anyone, who attended SHOT, able to get ATF to clarify this?
