The divorce lawyers already know that, which is part of their game. If everything was 50/50, then it would be easy to divide everything and you would not need a lawyer, but instead each side tries to get as much as they can, but in reality the lawyer is the only one who wins.

Not much of a difference as it means that the firearm can not be transferred.

i think thats the type of scenario the law is trying to avoid. Then again, you have the right to purchase whatever you want no matter how uninformed you are.

My guess is that this law is really just a way for them to build a case against another party if something goes wrong. Like if the guy in the car ended up killing someone with it. They could go after her as well?

I am going to say yes, because saying NO just gives out more power that we will never be able to get back.

scumbag criminals have already made it hard enough for us to obtain firearms. We dont want any more help from the goverment. We are grownups!

I think they should make the first offense insane. Every knowledgable person knows they shouldn't be making straw buys. If you knowingly perform a straw buy, you get fined $500k and 50 lashings with a wet biscuit.

No, the sale should not have gone through. Part of the problem is when there are FFLs who just want to make money and are willing to look the other way.

Ok, first of all, i agree this type of purchase is WRONG in such a huge way, BUT...

Look at this site. It stands for freedom. Look at all the posts. I think its safe to say its a right wing community. Part of our freedom is to make bad decisions on our own. If that lady wants to purchase a gun illegally for her convict boyfriend not only is that her choice but she will most likely need to pay for that choice later on in her life.

The less we have the goverment involved with our personal issues the better. The only people punished by these firearm laws are abiding citizens. Scumbags will ALWAYS find a way to get a firearm.

Look at it this way, atleast the gun is registered. Much better then a back alley deal?

The sale is wrong and illegal. If you want the dealer to be closed down, then fine, but otherwise you should not support illegal sales. Overall, the harm to freedom will be greater because action will need to be taken to stop illegal activity.

Is it really better than a back alley deal? Think about it.

i dont support illegal sales. I support freedom. Someone would need to PROVE that she was buying it to hand it over to her boyfriend. Until there is hard proof of that, you would just be denying an american citizen their right to bear arms.

All of our vehicles are registered to me OR her.

There are three options... single owner, joint owners (and), co-owners (or).

Single ownership is what you described.
Joint ownership, the title states "Joe and Mary"
Both signatures are required to release interest in the title.
Co-ownership, the title states "Joe or Mary"
Only one signature is required to release interest in the title.

We use "or" so if something happens to either one of us, the other can sell any of the vehicles for whatever reason without having to go through probate or any other legal proceedings.
If I'm in a coma and on life support, I don't think I'm going to be interested in the Suburban or the bike when I wake up, and my wife is going to need the money.

Yes, there are different ways that a vehicle can be registered, but it is not required that a married couple's vehicle be in both names, it CAN be in one name.

If you want people to be able to buy even when it is pretty clear what is going on, then people who buy firearms will be more likely to be contacted afterwards.
